Chapter 117: 117. Secret Identity

-

"Is it a mission?"

The once-excited girl now wore a look of disappointment, but she didn't say much.

Always understanding, she chose to wait.

"Then I'll wait for Gin-san to return and talk about it."

So obedient, it makes one's heart ache. Truly the kind of child others would envy.

Wait, no... it seems like now she's really become part of the family.

With this thought, Uchiha Gin looked at Uchiha Haruka, who seemed abandoned like a small puppy. Stroking his chin, he pondered for a while before turning to Uchiha Hikari, who was standing behind him in relief.

"Hikari, you don't mind bringing another person along, right?"

"Huh? I don't mind."

The girl, who had been silently celebrating, thought briefly and nodded. With her strength, dragging two along was no problem, even if there were more.

"Alright then, Haruka, go home and pack up. We leave tomorrow!"

Uchiha Gin smiled and patted the girl's smooth long hair, letting her know she could join them.

"Really? Thank you, Gin-san! Thank you, Hikari-senpai!"

Surprised that she could go on a mission with her teacher, the overjoyed girl hugged Uchiha Gin, thanking him excitedly.

???

This is normal physical contact between a teacher and student.

Uchiha Hikari, stay calm while convincing herself.

"Ara ara, mommy wants in too~"

Witnessing her daughter finding her place, Uchiha Eimi, shaking her impressive figure, pounced over with a flower-like smile.

"Thud!"

Without even turning her head, Haruka, still hugging Gin's waist, swung her leg back, kicking her mother away.

Can you stop ruining my moment, you old hag?

Seeing the close interaction between the two, Uchiha Hikari, now digging her own grave, started self-hypnosis.

No wonder the Uchiha clan's illusion techniques are so strong.

They're so good at deceiving themselves, let alone their enemies.

Feeling the warmth of the girl in his arms, Uchiha Gin couldn't help but feel a ripple in his heart.

But suddenly, he remembered her age and identity, and with a serious face, he pushed her away, earnestly advising her.

"Haruka, you're still young. Never hug other men like this."

"Not even Itama?"

Pushed away, Haruka's eyes shifted, her face showing innocent curiosity as she asked.

"Huh?! Just wait until I get home and deal with that perverted brat!"

My precious little cabbage has been nibbled by the pig I raised!

I'm going home to slaughter it!

With a menacing aura, Uchiha Gin grabbed the still-self-hypnotizing Hikari and hurried home.

Meanwhile, the previously innocent-faced Haruka returned to her usual serene smile. Watching Gin's back as he left, her cherry-like lips curved into a beautiful smile.

Sorry, Itama, but we're good friends, after all.

Back home, seeing Senju Itama lazily sprawled on the sofa, Uchiha Gin's anger surged. Without a word, he raised his hand and gave the little pervert a "loving" beating.

"Ouch, what are you doing?!"

Itama, covering his backside, glared indignantly, his voice filled with protest.

All he did was skip cleaning the house, and now he's being treated like this? How can he survive like this?

"You dare talk back? Think about what filthy things you did to Haruka!"

Gin's hand, enhanced with chakra, even felt slightly numb.

Had this little brat mastered Iron Body Technique?

But why did it still feel so... squishy?

"Alright, Gin, for the sake of his youth and ignorance, let's forgive him this time."

Unable to bear it any longer, Uchiha Hikari stepped in, stopping Gin from further "intimate" contact with the cheeky brat.

If this goes on, she'd be the one suffering the loss!

After all, she had never even played this kind of game with Gin.

"Huff~~~ Since Hikari's pleading for you, I'll let you off this time."

Although a bit obsessed with the brat's feel, remembering his identity, Gin quickly dispelled any strange thoughts.

He was a straight man after all, and couldn't be swayed by Senju Itama.

Gin then informed Itama of Haruka's apprenticeship and warned the perverted brat not to take advantage of her. Otherwise, as her teacher, he wouldn't show mercy.

"Huh? You're Haruka's teacher now?"

Banma, still rubbing his butt, jumped up, eyeing the man before her with suspicion.

"You... aren't you just after Haruka's beauty?"

"Boom!!!"

With a swift knock on his head, Uchiha Gin, veins popping on his forehead, clenched his smoking fist, glaring.

"I should be saying that to you!"

After dealing with the brat, a refreshed Gin stepped outside to begin renovating his grand house.

"Wood Style: Four Pillar House!"

With a clap of his hands, green chakra flowed from Gin's palms, and with a surge of energy, the grand house in front of him began to transform. The once two-story building expanded, a new third floor with a terrace emerging.

Perfect.

Releasing his clasped hands, Gin looked at the newly transformed house, nodding in satisfaction.

The house, a product of his Mokuton technique, could not only repair itself but also resist all kinds of ninjutsu. It stayed warm in winter and cool in summer, was fire and water-resistant, and had an intricate plumbing system supported by a water-release formation he set up beneath the house.

"Wooow~~~!!!"

Hearing the commotion outside, Uchiha Hikari and Senju Itama rushed out. Upon seeing the previously two-story house transformed into a luxurious three-story mansion, their mouths hung open in astonishment.

"Hehe, let's be honest, with my building skills, you guys will never go hungry!"

Puffing out his chest in pride, Gin thought to himself that when Konoha was founded, he'd surely make a fortune. Living a good life with his brothers would be a dream come true!

The two were too shocked to respond, already busy exploring the new mansion. Itama, in particular, darted around the spacious living room, his excitement spilling over as he ran back to Gin.

"Can I move in now?"

The old mansion only had two rooms on the second floor, and Itama had been relegated to the old house. Now that there were more bedrooms, surely there was space for him?

"Well, we'll see how you behave. We're going on a mission soon, so you can tidy the place up, and I'll check when we return."

Seeing Itama's hopeful, gleaming eyes fixed on him, Gin almost instinctively wanted to agree.

But he quickly snapped out of it, pulling himself together and adjusting his response.

Phew! These sly brats are terrifying!

Wiping the imaginary sweat from his forehead, Gin's alarm bells rang.

"Uh... Gin~~~"

Feeling a tug at his sleeve, Gin turned to see Hikari pouting slightly. Her soft voice spoke with a hint of complaint.

"I want the room next to yours!"

If I don't act now, this brat will steal my spot!

"No problem, Hikari, pick any room you like!"

Gin had no concerns about Hikari. With a wave of his hand, he let her choose freely.

"You guys go ahead and choose rooms. I'm going out for some fresh air."

Gin remembered that he hadn't practiced his skills today, so he excused himself, leaving the two to pick their rooms.

"Hey, you brat, you're crossing the line."

As soon as Gin left, Hikari's gentle demeanor vanished, replaced by a scowl as she confronted Itama.

"Huh? What's this old hag blabbering about?"

Never liking Hikari's fake demeanor, Banma immediately retorted venomously.

"Hmph! I won't stoop to your level."

Hikari, seething with anger, took a deep breath before calmly saying,

"And I won't tell Gin your real identity either."

"Huh? What are you talking about?"

Itama tensed up, avoiding Hikaru's gaze.

"Hehe, I don't know why Gin hasn't noticed, maybe he just doesn't care about you."

From the moment they met, Hikari's sharp intuition told her Itama's true identity. But for some reason, Gin hadn't realized it yet, treating her without any reservation.

Hikari wasn't ready to expose Itama's identity just yet. If she did, it might backfire and make Gin develop other thoughts about her, which would be detrimental to her own interests.

There was already one purple-haired threat. Adding this brat into the mix would lower her chances even more.

"Hah! What nonsense are you spouting? Look at this, it's the gift that guy gave me as... a token of...!"

Itama, angered by Hikaru's words, proudly displayed the golden hourglass pendant Gin had given her for protection.

"See this? Pure gold! You've probably never even seen anything like it!"

Hikari's black eyes widened, staring at the golden pendant filled with sand hanging from Itama's neck. Feeling indignant, she pulled out her own blue vortex pendant, inside of which chakra swirled visibly.

"What's that gaudy pendant of yours? Mine was personally put on me by Gin!"

Not wanting to lose face, Hikari lied, trying to one-up the brat in front of her.

"Pfft! How can your cheap glass trinket compare to my pure gold?"

"Heh, didn't you see the chakra inside? That's something Gin infused himself!"

The two continued to argue fiercely over the gifts Uchiha Gin had given them.

Meanwhile, Uchiha Gin, who was in the backyard, had no idea about the "friendly exchange" happening inside the house. His attention was fully absorbed by the figure emerging from the glowing screen in front of him.

Dressed in worn-out red armor, with striking white hair and a sinister smile, the figure's frail, aged body carried a familiar fan on its back. His weathered face, marked by deep lines, exuded a sense of desolation. His drooping eyes remained shut, wearing the blank expression typical of an NPC.

"Huh? Isn't that my cousin? How did he end up looking this pitiful in such a short time?"
