Chapter 11: Chapter 10 Attack
Inside the cramped carriage, twelve figures dressed as Rogue Ninjas huddled together.
All of them concealed any ninja features, making their identities untraceable.
The leader surveyed the group with a hint of satisfaction.
Among them, four Kumo ninjas, led by him, were seasoned jounin. They were joined by several Iwa ninjas and three others whose allegiance remained a mystery. Additionally, there were individuals posing as guards outside the carriage. All were Tokubetsu Jōnin, totaling twelve jounin and twenty Tokubetsu Jōnin in their assembly.
With such formidable strength, taking down a small ninja village would be child's play. Even against a Kage-level opponent, their chances of victory were high.
Tetsu had initially taken on the mission merely to gauge the Second Hokage's capabilities but now found himself unexpectedly allied with a group equally intent on eliminating the Hokage. Their combined force made the task seem achievable.
After all, the Second Hokage wasn't the legendary "God of Shinobi"; a mere resurrected man couldn't alter the course of history.
Tetsu's thoughts turned to the aftermath: with Konoha leaderless, internal conflicts were inevitable. This presented the perfect opportunity for Kumo to strike and claim a significant portion of Konoha's territory.
However, as Tetsu's gaze fell on the man in black within the carriage, he couldn't suppress a sense of disdain. While the man was undoubtedly capable, Tetsu couldn't shake the feeling of mistrust.
Bringing together such a group within the Land of Fire suggested close ties to Konoha's elite. This internal discord made Konoha an easy target for Kumo's united forces.
Despite his reservations, Tetsu pressed forward with his inquiry: "What about the Hokage's anbu? How strong are they?"
The man in black's response was dismissive: "Don't worry. The Hokage travels with only three Tokubetsu Jōnin as his guards. It's nothing to worry about."
Assured by this information, Tetsu felt a wave of relief. Three Tokubetsu Jōnin posed no threat.
But this Second Hokage's confidence in venturing out with such limited protection only fueled Tetsu's determination to eliminate him.
Just then, a message arrived from their lookout outside the carriage window: "My lords, the Second Hokage is half a mile away. Please prepare yourselves."
Excitement surged through the occupants of the carriage, their eyes gleaming with anticipation.
As Tobirama approached the carriage, he stayed calm.
"Hey, should we get ready to fight? That carriage up ahead looks weird," Genma asked, looking worried.
Tobirama glanced at the carriage and said, "You guys hide. They're after me, and you won't stand a chance against them."
Though Genma hesitated, he saw Tobirama's determined expression and agreed.
Tobirama kept moving forward alone, ready to face the threat.
He knew he couldn't be killed because of his special body, thanks to the Impure World Reincarnation jutsu.
Passing by the carriage, Tobirama heard someone shout, "Hokage, die!"
He braced himself for what was to come.
Led by Mist Ninja, a group of water jutsu experts attacked first with Water Release ninjutsu
Water Release: Great Waterfall Technique!"
A group of water escape specialists initiated the attack, merging chakra-induced waterfalls into a powerful surge aimed at Tobirama.
"Thunder Release: Pseudo Darkness!"
Following Kirigakure's Water Release, another group combined their Thunder Release with the water, creating high-voltage waves.
Tobirama was submerged without resistance as the waves flooded the area, creating a large man-made lake.
"Got him?"
Tetsu asked as Tobirama seemingly remained vulnerable.
"Shouldn't the Second Hokage be tougher? Let's keep attacking him!" Tetsu ordered, channeling chakra.
"Storm Release: Laser Circus!"
A massive lightning strike hit the water's surface, boiling the lake.
"Ha! Even the Second Hokage can't handle that!" The attackers laughed.
But their celebration was short-lived as Tobirama's body reformed from countless scraps of paper.
"Is this your best?" Tobirama taunted.
Before anyone could react, Tobirama swiftly took out one attacker, using their body as a weapon against another.
As Tobirama prepared to fight back, a ninja emerged from the water, attacking him with a sword.
Tobirama effortlessly dodged the attack, swiftly dispatching the assailant.
"Attack together!" Tetsu commanded, determined to prove the power of a Kage.
Tobirama removed his Hokage hat, ready to face the challenge.
With unmatched speed and strength, Tobirama took on the attackers, swiftly incapacitating them one by one.
Despite the large number of opponents, Tobirama easily dominated the battlefield.
But Tetsu proved to be a formidable adversary, unleashing a powerful Lightning Release technique.
"Lightning Release: Lightning Fang"
Even as Tobirama dodged, Tetsu launched a surprise attack, believing victory was assured.
"I, Tetsu, have defeated the Second Hokage!" he boasted.
