Seeing the half-fish tail in Naruto's hand, Shishou couldn't help but laugh.
Using the Rasengan to catch fish, only Naruto could come up with that.
Sasuke frowned slightly when he saw Naruto's Rasengan. He didn't expect Naruto to have mastered such a powerful jutsu. This made Sasuke, who was feeling confident with his increased strength, a bit irritated.
However, despite his irritation, Sasuke didn't say anything. He knew that, like him, Naruto was being taught by the big sister brought by Tsunade, so it was normal for Naruto's strength to improve rapidly.
Similarly, Kiba, Shino, and the other clan children were surprised by Naruto. They knew Naruto's background well and were familiar with the Fourth Hokage's signature jutsu.
Only Sakura, being a civilian, clenched her fists in frustration. She wanted to get stronger too!
"These guys are making it hard for anyone else to shine..."
Shikamaru sighed after seeing the techniques used by Sasuke and Naruto. With such monsters as peers, his future seemed tough.
After their antics, the group finally started their camping dinner.
Gathered around the fire, they chatted about their recent missions and the upcoming Chunin Selection Exam.
During the conversation, Shikamaru explained the significance of the upcoming Chunin Exam.
Generally, as a ninja village of a great nation, Konoha's Chunin Exams always attracted participants from other villages, but they were usually from smaller villages.
This time, however, things were different.
Firstly, this Chunin Exam had the most participants from small ninja villages, including some newly established ones.
Secondly, to show their goodwill towards Konoha, both the Sand and Mist Villages, two of the five great ninja villages, had also sent participants.
Thirdly, the participation of all the ninja clan heirs, like them, turned this into a competition among Konoha's elite young ninjas.
"So, you all need to be extra careful. If you die in the Chunin Exam, you really die," Shikamaru warned.
Mist Village is sending participants too?
Hearing Shikamaru's explanation, Shishou raised an eyebrow.
He wasn't surprised about the Sand Village since that was how it was in the original series. However, he was unsure if Orochimaru would still cause trouble in Konoha now that he had already acquired the power of Hashirama and surpassed the Third Hokage, leaving him with no motive to disrupt Konoha.
But the participation of the Mist Village was news to him. Mei Terumi hadn't mentioned it.
Recently, Mei had been training in the Shikkotsu Forest, and Shishou hadn't visited her much. It was understandable that he didn't know.
Of course, it was also possible that Mei was trying to establish a connection with Tsunade, aiming to form an alliance with Konoha. With Mei as the Fifth Mizukage and Tsunade as the future Fifth Hokage, it made sense for them to ally, especially given Shishou's influence.
Shikamaru continued,
"This time, the Sand Village's team is led by the Fourth Kazekage's children, so their strength should not be underestimated."
"As for the Mist Village, I don't know much, but my father said it's led by a young girl."
"And other villages have also sent..."
These details were shared with Shikamaru by his father to increase his chances of success in the Chunin Exam.
Sakura listened carefully, making a mental note of everything. As a civilian, she didn't have access to this kind of information, so she had to seize this opportunity.
As a civilian, she had to grasp every chance to stay by Shishou's side.
Hearing Shikamaru's explanation, Sasuke, Kiba, and the others fell silent, frowning.
Naruto, however, declared confidently,
"Hmph, no matter who stands in my way, I'll defeat them all."
"I'm going to be the Hokage!"
Since training with the big sister brought by Tsunade, Naruto had unprecedented confidence in his strength. He believed he could defeat both Sasuke and Shishou.
"Tch!"
Seeing Naruto's smug expression, Sasuke scoffed.
"Sasuke, are you looking for a fight?" Naruto stood up, annoyed.
In his excitement, Naruto stepped on Akamaru's food.
"Woof! Woof!" Akamaru barked angrily and bit Naruto's leg.
"Ah, it hurts," Naruto cried out, hopping on one leg and bumping into Kiba.
"N-Naruto, you idiot, you ruined my food," Kiba yelled.
"S-Sorry..." Naruto apologized quickly.
"Tch, loser," Sasuke added, rubbing salt in the wound.
"Sasuke, I'll fight you!"
Watching Naruto and Sasuke bicker, Ino glared at them before quickly wrapping a piece of roast meat in lettuce and stuffing it into Shishou's mouth.
Shishou had just finished eating when Hinata offered another piece of roast meat.
Sakura, seeing Shishou being fed by Ino and Hinata, pursed her lips and ate the roast meat she had wrapped herself.
Shino, quietly grilling meat nearby, observed the expressions of Ino, Hinata, and Sakura. Pushing his glasses up, he reflected on his cousin's ambition to enjoy the company of multiple women.
Among everyone present, only Shino knew the true extent of Shishou's capabilities.
With these chaotic thoughts, Shino continued grilling meat, preparing more for his future sisters-in-law.
In the midst of the commotion, the camping picnic came to an end.
On the way home, after seeing Hinata and Ino off, Shishou tossed the small stone Ino had given him as he walked towards the Aburame clan's compound.
Ino had picked up the red, semi-transparent stone by the river. It was beautiful.
Shishou planned to carve a pretty bead from it and give it back to Ino.
This way, he could gain Ino's appreciation with just a bit of effort.
Halfway there, Shishou was suddenly stopped by someone.
Seeing the slender, jade-like hand blocking his way, Shishou turned to look at the person.
It was a beautiful woman with jade-like skin, a graceful figure, and a pure yet alluring face, her long white hair flowing behind her. She asked,
"Little brother, can you tell me the way to the Red Soup Inn?"
