After hearing this voice, Tsunade's face briefly flashed with joy, which she didn't even notice herself. She turned her head to look and saw Yusuke pulling little Kurenai and running quickly toward her.
Suddenly, the smile on Tsunade's face disappeared without a trace. For some reason, every time this guy appeared, he seemed to have this little girl with him. Tsunade couldn't help but wonder who she was to him.
"We're here to see you off," Yusuke smiled.
Kurenai, catching her breath, handed a lunch box to Tsunade with an adoring look and nervously said, "Tsunade-sama, this is a bento I made. Please, please eat it on the way."
Tsunade's eye twitched twice, but she still took the bento. "Uh... Thank you."
Immediately, Tsunade glared at Yusuke with a murderous look, as if to say, "Aren't you going to explain what happened two days ago?"
Yusuke noticed Tsunade's glare, his lips curling into a slight smile. Under the incredulous gaze of everyone around, he gently took Tsunade's right hand and said softly, "I wish Your Highness the princess a triumphant return."
With that, he lightly kissed the back of Tsunade's hand.
It's not that Yusuke didn't want to push things further, but Tsunade was already on guard, making any further moves impossible. He decided to take his time; there was no rush anyway.
But even this small gesture left many of the surrounding ninjas dumbfounded. This was Tsunade—the granddaughter of the First Hokage, the princess of the Senju Clan, and one of the three legendary Sannin! Yet, after Yusuke's audacious act, Tsunade didn't retaliate?
Jiraiya had once been beaten nearly to death for a similar offense, and here was Yusuke, with Tsunade showing only a slight blush on her face instead of anger.
The Senju Clan ninjas felt their worldview collapsing. But when they considered it, they realized that although Yusuke came from a civilian background, he had the strength of a peak Kage-level ninja. In time, he would likely gain a high-ranking position in Konoha. It made sense for Tsunade to develop a relationship with someone like him, rather than with Dan, who was only a second-rate ninja.
Meanwhile, Dan stood there, feeling as if the world had crumbled around him. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. How long had he been pursuing Tsunade? He couldn't even remember—at least five years. And yet, in just five days, Yusuke had succeeded?
Dan couldn't understand it. Could it really be that strength was the key? Indeed, Tsunade never seemed to value strength so much in a partner; otherwise, why would she have chosen Dan over the stronger Jiraiya in the original timeline?
But it wasn't just strength. Yusuke's words had resonated with Tsunade, creating a connection that she found deeply appealing.
After a reminder from a nearby Senju ninja, Tsunade covered the back of her hand that Yusuke had kissed, a slight blush still on her face, and turned to leave.
"Brother Yusuke, do you like Tsunade-sama?" Kurenai asked with a pout.
"is little Kurenai not happy?" Yusuke squatted down and poked her puffed-out cheeks with a chuckle.
"Hmph!"
"It's okay," Yusuke said in a natural tone. "You can be my lover after."
The guards and passersby around the gate who heard Yusuke's words were thunderstruck.
"That bastard! I'm not far away yet! You wait for me!" A roar came from the forest ahead.
"Tsk, this woman has sharp ears," Yusuke grumbled.
Now, Yusuke was completely assured that Tsunade wouldn't be blind to Dan, a third-rate ninja. He hadn't sought Tsunade out in the past few days because he wanted to keep her waiting. Being like Dan and hovering around her all day wouldn't do him any good. But that was only a secondary reason.
The more important reason was that the system had opened a new check-in location:
New Check-In Location Opened—Book of Seals.
Sign-In Reward—Flying Thunder God Technique (Minato Namikaze's Perfect Version).
Yusuke didn't need to get all five attributes like the protagonists in many novels; he didn't need them. However, inheriting the White Fang's abilities made Flying Thunder God a divine skill for him. High-level Lightning Release techniques could overstimulate his body, making them difficult to control due to the high-voltage electricity. It was too volatile for someone without a Kekkei Genkai to control perfectly. Kakashi needed the Sharingan to master it.
With the Flying Thunder God Technique, Yusuke could overcome this weakness and gain spatial ninjutsu. But getting the Book of Seals wasn't going to be easy.
Even though Yusuke could walk freely in Konoha due to the village's weakened state, he wasn't in a position to simply ask Hiruzen Sarutobi for the Book of Seals.
