Chapter 1: In Naruto... again

Sigh*

I looked at the sky. It had been painted red from the smoke and the sunset. The echoes of painful shrieks and bloody cries made it seem like a true apocalypse.

"There.." I heard footsteps approaching, they were not allies. "It's from the leaf." One of them spoke.

I glanced at the approaching men. There were two, both wearing a familiar headband. They were from the stone.

"Heh, shall we capture him? He looks weak." The same one spoke.

I grabbed a kunai from my pocket. They also readied themselves. After a brief pause I brought the Kunai to my neck.

Both of them were confused. *Slash*

Blood flowed as I slit my own throat. Falling to the ground, I could hear annoyed murmurs from the two though I did not care.

Seven years ago, when I first came to this world. I was hopeful. I thought that my future knowledge would push me past everyone and I will stand atop.

I was naive. I trained hard, I studied everything I could yet.. There were some things that knowledge from the future couldn't help me with.

Even after all that hellish training and sleepless nights of studying all I got was "Slightly Above Average" results.

I closed my eyes. The third shinobi war was raging on in full swing. Children sent to a battlefield. Innocent souls sacrificed to this murder fest.

'But it doesn't matter…' I thought.. It doesn't matter.

I am dead, just another name in the stone, just another forgotten soul, just another..

My consciousness faded away. I liked it, there were no more bloody shrieks, no more mournful cries, it was finally peaceful.

"...ayo" I heard a slight murmur.

"Iz….." again.

'Don't wake me up.'

"Izayo" I heard my name.

'I don't wanna return.'

"Izayo" This time it was fully clear.

"...?" I opened my eyes.

I felt a soft bed beneath my back. "You're finally awake." An annoyed voice said. I looked at the old woman who had woken me up.

"Get yourself prepared and ready for breakfast. You have to go to the academy as well." She sternly said as she left my room.

"Ah." I suddenly realised where I was. The room, the old women, the academy. It was the same place I first woke up in this world.

Getting myself off the bed, I quickly went to the bathroom to freshen myself up. It was not that hard to believe.

I was really shocked the first time but, when you wake up in what you thought was a fictional world after death, regressing in the same world seems less surprising.

I wouldn't be surprised even if I suddenly awakened a system.

"…"

Why did I think that it was going to work? Truly… reading those transmigration manga have infected me.

I looked at myself in the mirror before leaving. Navy blue hair and same coloured eyes.

The streets felt surreal to me. The sun was bright. The stalls were busy and children could be seen running around the streets. It was totally different from the blood soaked mayhem of the war.

The scene helped me a little. Just a few minutes ago I slit my own throat and now I was walking around the village like nothing happened.

I reached my destination. The academy was quite full. The children were here with their parents and guardians, some were enthusiastic, some were nervous, some were sad..

The last one was probably those who came alone. I didn't mind it though I viewed it as a benefit rather than a detriment.

The chatter and noise suddenly stopped when a man stood on the stage. He looked old. He had a stern yet gentle expression as he removed the pipe from his mouth.

"I well.." He continued on about the will of fire and the village and the duties of a shinobi. No further introduction was required.

After the speech ended. The students all cheered and got sorted into their respective classes.

"Hey." I heard a voice beside me. Turning around I saw a blonde haired boy with blue eyes. He had a small smile on his face as he introduced himself, "I'm Namikaze Minato. Nice to meet you."

"Hinode Izayo. It's a pleasure to meet you as well." I politely replied.

After which there was a period of awkward silence. In my previous life, I would have ignored him since I didn't want to interact with major characters but now that I think about it, that was a really stupid decision.

The canon can go to hell, having connections is more important. "So.." I said trying to break the silence.

"You're a sensor too, right?" I asked.

His eyes widened in surprise. "How do- oh you're one as well." He nodded his head as if he was thinking something.

Sensors were basically people with high sensitivity to chakra, it was basically the only thing that I was gifted. Aside from my future knowledge ofcourse.

The doors closed as a man entered the room. His eyes scanned the entire classroom and then when the class was quiet he started.

"I am your hometown teacher. You guys can call me Kazuma sensei. Now, since this is our first class and all, I won't teach you anything today." He said.

"The classes are dismissed for today." He said as the students left the room.

~~Time skip~~

A few months have passed.

The classes continued as usual, I didn't make any friends since all of them were kids by my perspective and we had nothing in common. Well except Minato, he was way too mature for his age.. but atleast I have a pal to talk to. So, I'm not complaining.

"Hey Minato." I called. He was sitting beside me attentively listening to the teacher. Frankly I didn't understand why he was doing this since he knew everything about this class anyways.

"Hey." I called again. "What?" He replied.

"Do you want to change classes?" I asked.

"What?" He replied. "I mean skip grades, its getting real boring real quick." I clarified.

He seemed to ponder about something. Although in the future he would be recognised as a one of a kind talent, right now he hasn't even sparred against anyone yet.

The higher ups haven't noticed him yet. To them he was just a civilian orphan who also happened to be a sensor, just like a certain someone.

"Yeah, you're right." He said. "We need to grow fast." He seemed to be determined.

Well that was easy.

"Wanna go for Ramen?" I asked. "Sure."
