I watched as people rushed from place to place shouting and ordering as they tried to organise themselves.
"How.. nostalgic." I sighed. As I entered the camp. I had to meet with my unit commander so that he could assign me a mission and a squad.
So, I gave a scroll to the man who was standing in front of the huge tent. He took the scroll and when he saw the hokage's symbol on the scroll he promptly took it inside.
I waited outside for a bit before the man returned. "Lord Danzo asks for your presence."
I entered the tent, it wasn't much there were a ton of scrolls laying around and a huge map of the continent pasted at the forefront with smaller maps depicting the surroundings being played across the table.
Behind the table sat a one eyed man, Half of his face was covered with bandage while both of his hands were free.
I promptly kneeled before him and said, "Chunin Hinode Izayo greets lord Danzo."
"Hm.. So, you were the boy who came up with that lightning jutsu and disposed of those spies." He asked.
"Yes." I shortly replied.
"I see you have done well." He spoke as he took one scroll from his drawer. "This is your assigned mission: you are to join up with the fifth division and hand it over to the leader." He gave the scroll to me.
"As you wish." I simply took the scroll and left. I could see the satisfied look on his face as I left.
Nothing good comes from antagonizing people of high power for petty pride or honour anyways. Especially in a strict bureaucratic system of a world like Naruto.
Team five was it? I went to where I was pointed and gave this to a jonin who I assumed was the leader.
He took the scroll from me and read it. He narrowed his eyes at some words before burning the scroll.
"Come with me." He said as I followed him. We met with a different guy. He was a middle aged man who wore a green vest and an orange track.
He also had jet black hair and two bushy eyebrows. With a smile on his face he said, "Hey."
The man beside me simply ignored the older man's greeting and said, "You and that guy would be working to clear out some bandits who seem to be taking advantage of the lack of personnel to trouble the surrounding villages."
"That's your first mission after which you will have to meet up with another two squads to officially join the battle." He finished as he gave me another scroll.
"It has the location of the meetup. You will go there after you are done with your first, do you understand?" He asked.
"I do." I took the scroll and after the man left I greeted the middle aged man, "Yo, I am Hinode Izayo, a chunin who specializes in taijutsu and ninjutsu." I greeted the man.
"Oh, you seem very youthful, my name is Might Duy and I am your companion in your ordeal, worry not dear youth for I shall help you." He had a big bright smile as he gave a thumbs up.
"..." I was speechless.
*cough* "Shall we.. leave?" I asked to confirm. Although the previous man did not confirm it, I guessed he should be the leader since he was much older.
"You're excited for your mission huh? Very youthful indeed! Let us leave so that we may fulfill our destiny and duties." He looked up at the sky as tears flowed from his eyes.
I recognised him the moment I saw him. He was the father of one of my favourite characters from the entire series, who wouldn't know him?
After a brief chat we left for the mission.
~~~ Scene Break ~~~
I looked at the camping bandits, it was already approaching night time as the evening sky slowly turned a dark blue.
They were busy, some of them setting up their camps, some of them cutting vegetables and some of them were chatting leisurely.
"So, what's the plan?" Duy asked as he cracked his knuckles.
"We wait." I said. "Wait?" He asked. "We have a better advantage at fighting in a dark environment and don't worry, I will fix the problem of light soon enough." I answered with a confident smile.
After which we began to discuss our ambush lying in wait for the sun to fully set and darkness to blanket the sky.
The conditions were perfect now. The sun had set and the bandits gathered on a spot near to one another.
As they laughed and shared a meal with each other, I assessed their numbers. There were 17 in total, 11 of which we didn't have to worry about while the other six were trained people.
"Are you ready?" I asked and took out a kunai from my pocket. The handle was wrapped in a strange seal.
"Yes." Duy looked with a determined face. Was I sure that this guy was older than the two of my previous life combined.
I threw the same kunai with all my strength. Without any warning it moved straight for the huge fire.
It made contact with the fire as the kunai was engulfed in flames. I made a hand seal.
The bandits were too dumb to notice as..
*Boom* A huge explosion happened in the middle of the camp. It released a shock wave which pushed back a lot of people as the debris of ash and pieces of burning firewood scattered across the camp.
Many people died in the subsequent heat wave as Might Duy cracked his knuckles. His main task was to hold back the leader of the bandits while I clear the rest of the weaker people after which we will finish the others one by one.
It was time to complete my first mission.
==== A/N====
So.. I have not been doing so well right now, so the chapters are short and of lower quality. Don't worry I will get back to my original schedule after I am better. Till then, you would have to put up with shorter chapters and less regular updates.
See ya!
