Chapter 2: Draft Night
2018 NBA DRAFT
It's a nervous day for the Namikaze family as Naruto and his father is at the NBA Draft ceremony in Barcaly's centre in Brooklyn New York, why is Naruto here with his old man, well that's because the Namikaze couldn't afford for him to have a real agent so his dad's doing everything he can to make Naruto reach his dream come true.
Naruto : Will you relax. I'm gonna get drafted.
Naruto said to his nervous dad while Naruto was also nervous but the 18 year old is trying to keep a calm face, this is Naruto's only shot at making it and he has to make it, not just for him but for his family as well, his mom, dad and sister have supported him all the way hear through school and college so the least he can do is make it to the top.
MINATO : I know, I'm just nervous for you that's all.
Naruto chuckled and sat back in the chair, Minato works at a Walmart earning few dollars on the hour while his mother, Kushina is working two jobs to help get her family through the tough times, Naruto just wants to get his family out of the the poor neighbourhood in Dallas and into the high life.
Naruto missed out on being signed straight out of college but now he's in the Draft and his mother and sister, Mito are watching from home, Mito 19 and training in medicine, she could defiantly do with the extra help with the costs seen as she's also working two jobs.
but after that the draft started and slowly and slowly players were called out but his name nowhere to be found he was loosing hope and fast but then
Rob Pelinka -hello?is this Naruto Namikaze ?
Naruto wasn't sure who the person on the phone was but still answered with clear nerves in his voice
Naruto-yes?who is this?
Rob Pelinka-Hi I am Rob Pelinka, the GM for the los angles lakers ,how would you like to be future of our squad
Naruto was for a split second frozen in time and space, this is it, Naruto's done it after all these years of hard work and blood sweat and tears, Naruto has got his chance into the NBA.
Naruto-yeah,of course
Rob Pelinka: Great news. Go out their do your thing then get to the staple centre as soon as possible and we'll get the contract sorted.
The phone call then cut off after the "Goodbye's" and naruto looked to his dad.
Naruto- I am getting drafted to the lakers
Minato hugged his son with tears in his eyes, Minato was over the moon happy for his son and the fact he's made his dream come true,as they looked up to the stage nba commisnor adam silva came
adam silva -the 13th pick in the nba draft ,the los angles lakers select naruto uzumaki ,from the university of kentucky
naruto got up hugging ,his father as laker fans cheared ,he was handed a hat and went up to the stage to shake hand with adam silva

and the Draft continued...

Naruto made it back to dallas where his family did a small celebration and todays the day he need to sign the contract ,so he is getting ready to go to American airline centre
Minato-lets go son !
after saying goodbye to his sister and mom and they started their journey to the stadium ,he took a nap till they reached the stadium
minato shook his son up as they reached the staple centre and there were lots of lakers fans seeming for him to turn up ,Naruto signed a few things and took few picture, he still couldn't believe on how his life has changed
Naruto answered all the reporter's question respectfully and entered in the building ,he was so exited to be here but his musings were cut short
rob-Namikaze
naruto and minato looked to see the General Manger with the Team Coach Luke Walton and lakers legend kobe bryant ,his idol walking beside him with presumable there lawyers with them.
kobe and rob pulls Naruto into a hug and introduces the others and Naruto introduces his father to them .
rob - so lets get down to business shall we ,how about 40 millionfor four year plus 10 million signing bonus ?
Naruto looked to his dad as the others on their side of the table looked glad and pleased with what they are offering, Naruto knows that minimum is around 600K a year and they're offering him this.
Naruto - come again ?
Naruto asked wanting to make sure he heard right and they could understand why he was sceptical and wanted to reassure him.
rob : We're trying to build a Championship winning team here with you and lebron ,who was traded recently and we can see you as the spine to that. We wanted to sign you out of college but you were kind of a late scout.(here Naruto will play PG and lebron SG)
Naruto was surprised to hear that and watched as the contract was slid over to him, Naruto looked it over and it was a 4 year deal with it basically saying he's going to be a big part of the future, Naruto was handed a pen and signed it after his dad gave him the all good, Minato might not be a highly paid lawyer but he's seen a few contracts in his time and know when someone's getting screwed.
Either way, Naruto 's now the new number #28 for the lakers and a picture of him holding the jersey with rob and kobe either side of him, the picket went viral and Naruto had one with just him holding the shirt, Naruto 's gonna need a social media account now and why not have the first post of him holding his new jersey...
