I was still reeling from the realization that I was in the Naruto world when I heard a rushing sound nearby. I turned to see an injured kid charging at me with hate in his eyes.
"DIE!" he screamed, his voice dripping with hatred.
He lunged at me with a knife in his hand. I stumbled backward, narrowly avoiding the blade.
"Sto-" I tried to tell him to stop, but he wasn't listening. He was trying to kill me.
I turned and ran as fast as I could, but he slashed at my back. The pain was excruciating, but I knew I couldn't stop if I wanted to survive. I continued running towards the forest, the kid still chasing me. I ducked behind a couple of trees, trying to lose him, but it didn't work. As much as I wanted to run away and not fight, I knew the only way to escape was to kill him. With this in mind, I picked up several rocks to throw at him. I turned to throw the rocks and almost got my throat cut open.
'When did he get so close?' I thought in shock.
I jerked my head out of the way and swung the rock in my hand at the kid's head. It hit him straight in the temple, and he fell to the ground unconscious.
"Huff-huff!" I panted hard from all the running.
I knew killing was supposed to be repulsive, and it was. I had just killed a kid. The thought filled me with disgust. I immediately turned around and retched in the bushes. But I knew what I needed to do. I kneeled next to the kid, grabbed the knife—the kunai—and put it through his eye.
"Sorry, kid. Nothing personal," I said with a bit of sadness in my voice.
I then searched through his belongings and found four kunai, six shuriken, and a scroll titled 'The Basics of Training,' which I knew would be useful if I was to survive in this world. I needed to get away from there, so I started running back to the cave where I first woke up. I ran and ran until I arrived. I cut off some branches from trees, crudely covered my tracks, and concealed the cave entrance. I sat down and rested for a while to recover.
"Huff-huff... I should read the scroll and train for a while before venturing out to find a town or village or something. I also need to hunt for food. And I need to find a way to store water instead of running such a large distance to the stream."
I decided to sort out the food problem first, so I made some simple traps and placed them some distance away from the cave. Then I settled into a comfortable spot, pulled out the scroll, and started reading while it was still light out.
'To begin training, one should start with physical bodyweight exercises to increase strength and flexibility.'
The scroll went on to describe various exercises one could do. It also explained the basics of throwing kunai and shuriken.
'Now onto chakra. To unlock chakra, you should meditate to sense the energy within yourself. There are a couple of things you can do to make this process quicker, but the most common one is to get an experienced clan member.'
'Well, that was not very informative, but still useful, I guess,' I thought in disappointment.
'I should patch up the cut on my back.' I thought. 'It might get infected.'
