Chapter 4: Chapter 4

We finally arrive back to the village after a little under an hour. These guys had to take a break because of how very unphysically gifted Shikamaru and Ino were. Well, they did have to carry their teammates, I guess.

Well, I probably can't be comparing them to me, a cheater. I mean I've only trained once, and I do have the combined physical attributes of two chunin level ninja.

Wait. Will they even let him into the hospital? They did in the original I think.

"Say, so you think they'll allow this guy in the hospital? He did try to destroy your village."

I look over at them but they seem distracted by the commotion by the gladiator arena. Oh yeah, the Hokages probably dead right now.

I should go find Gaara's team... weren't they at the fight with Gaara? Where'd they go?

"Aren't you gonna take him to the hospital? He looks hurt." The voice of a teen entered my ears. I turn around and see Temari and Kankuro standing behind me.

"Oh, yeah. Here, you take him." I toss Gaara to Kankuro who caught him with a scared look.

I look towards Temari and introduce myself. "Hey, I'm Giyu."

I look at her face with my eyes. Her face deadpans as she says, "Yeah, I know. We traveled together for two weeks. You already introduced yourself."

"O-oh, my bad. Well, um, how was your day?" I try to change the topic with a subject that never fails; herself!

She now has a look that says 'are you an idiot?' "We just attempted to destroy Konoha for some reason, and failed miserably, we might have a war and be obliterated, and the Kazekage is nowhere to be found so he's either dead or he ran away. How do you think my day was?" She sounded exasperated and irritated.

"Oh, yeah. Sorry. I just though you might be happy about winning your match..." Now that I say it out loud it sounds stupid.

She looks at me intensely for a few seconds before sighing, "I didn't even win it, he just forfeited right as I was about to win."

"Well it looked like he forfeited because he was running low on Chakra and even if you were caught in his jutsu, he wouldn't have been able to hold it for long enough to do anything. ButI may be wrong." Huhu. My meta knowledge is really coming in handy. I might really be able to bag her(metaphorically).

She slightly smiled and turned away. "We should go find Baki to see what to do."

We walk side by side and look for Baki. Most of the commotion is gone, but it seems that everyone's still tense if the 3 meter empty radius around us had to say anything.

About 20 minutes after we began our search an anbu appeared before us.

"I'm here to inform you that we have sent word to your village and they have sent someone to escort you back to Suna. They should be arriving in a few days. Please stay in your rooms for the rest of your stay here for your own safety."

Temari didn't seem to care about his words and asked, "Where's the Kazekage and Baki?"

The anbu didn't look the least bit affected by her questioning. "Baki has died, and the Kazekage's whereabouts are unknown."

He then promptly disappeared.

Temari frowned. "Father ran away and left us here?"

Oh, she thinks that he left his kids to die in Konoha. Damn, how do you cheer someone up from something like that.

"Well, he might have had some reason. Maybe he was being followed and didn't want to put you in danger." I hope this at least eases her mind until she learns the truth... which will probably also make her sad.

She didn't look convinced at all. She turns away and starts her walk towards her room. I catch up to her and continue to try and cheer her up.

"There are lots of reasons he could have left you. Maybe he died."

She stopped and glared at me while crossing her arms defiantly. She seemed a little angry at what I said.

"Can you shut up? Why are you talking to me like we're friends? Just leave me alone." She looked like she was about to cry, as far as I could tell.

Maybe I shouldn't have said that thing about her dad being dead. Should I just leave her alone, and let her work it out by herself? But as an expert on romance, I know that it never ends well when you leave a depressed person alone.

"Ah, no I mean, he's probably alive. He's a Kage after all. Not just anyone can kill him."

She didn't seem to care as she continued to walk away. Her hips were swaying, distracting me from my purpose of cheering her up. Buy I prevailed! I didn't let that posterior hypnotize me.

I run up to her side, and walk beside her. She looks at me with a cute glare on her face.

"Why are you following me?"

"Um, our apartments are right next to eachother."

"..."

"..."

"..."

"So... What's your favorite food?"

More silence.

Damn it, this school icebreakers don't work at all. How do you talk to a girl? Um... flattery?

"Temari, you're... you're very strong. I bet you'll reach jonin level in no time."

"..."

"I mean, your wind jutsu is already super strong. I would definitely lose of we fought. Well, what im trying to say is that you're pretty cool, I guess."

"..."

"And, um, I mean, you're really smart too. I bet you didn't even need to cheat on the first test. Well, even if you cheated, im just saying you could've passed if you didnt, you know?"

"..."

"And you're very pretty. I've hea-"

"God, don't you ever shut up?" She glared at me and increased her pase.

Well that didn't work. Why though? I thought all girls like being flattered. Oh yeah, I'm an idiot. She just figured out that her dad either died or abandoned her. Maybe I should just leave her alone for a while.

Well, what do I do now? Just lay around for a couple days before we're escorted to our village? Yup, sounds like a plan.
