Chapter 69: evolution

The following day, about five minutes before Oli's evolution, Alex, Emily, and the others were all gathered around the white ball that was Oli. 

The ball was two times bigger than an ostrich's egg and was radiating with power while levitating mid-air. 

Alex tried to touch the ball, but it was so hot that he almost lost his finger. If it wasn't for Emily and Paria's timely treatment, he was sure that he would have to amputate his finger and regrew it. 

While everyone was looking at the hot white ball, small pink cracks started appearing on the ball and soon got bigger and bigger until it crumbled down with a satisfying sound like walking on a dried-up land. 

Everybody had to cover their eyes from the intense glow and couldn't open them for a few seconds until the light started to dim. 

DING 

"evolution complete," 

Emily heard the system notification and excitedly opened her eyes as she looked toward Oli.
