Chapter 45: entering the dungeon

It took about six deaths for the gang members to get used to the experience of the in-game death. That was six times a hundred million for each of the.

Alex had a lot of money thanks to his title "first in history," but it didn't mean that he was completely fine with spending that much money just for his companions to get used to dying.

He previously estimated that they only needed to be killed three times to finish the job, but apparently, nothing went as planned in this world.

They spent the following days leveling up and playing with their new skills so that they would be ready when they entered the dungeon.

But when they reached level 45, Alex stopped them and started explaining a few things about dungeons and this type of dungeon in particular.

The first thing he did before starting the explanation was to give each of them a billion INBs which was equivalent to ten lives; then, he started talking about the dungeon.

"since it is a level 50 dungeon, if we are above level 50, the EXP and rewards we gain would take a big hit, so I think leaving five levels aside for the dungeon would be more than enough.

As for your roles inside the team, they would stay the same as we practiced in the past days, with the exception of Paria and Parisa.

Since we don't have Emily to act as our main healer inside the dungeon, Paria will have to stay in charge most of the time, and Parisa can't come out unless absolutely necessary."

Then Alex explained some more about the delay in the resurrection. So if they died, they won't get back to the field eminently and instead had to wait for one minute before coming back to life.

In this one minute, If there was a healer in the group with the skill "resurrection," they could bring back the killed person to life without much penalty.

"Is there any question?" asked Alex, looking at his team members.

"don't you think it's better for Emily to go inside the dungeon instead of us?" asked Parisa.

"no, Emily isn't ready yet, and her mental state is still a little bit shaken after she died. Plus, you two have to get used to switching mid-battle, and this will be a good practice."

"do I have to come? Can't someone else go instead of me? I was in the middle of experimenting with some cool materials I found in the market." Sid complained.

"as I said before, there could be special minerals and ingredients; I need you and Reyhan to identify and collect them," said Alex with irritation.

"but…." Sid was about to complain again when Alex cut him short.

"that's it. If you say one more thing, I will cut the funds for your projects, and you can find the money yourself."

Sid promptly sat down and didn't say anything else. He loved experimenting with new materials, and all that was only possible thanks to Alex's generosity.

"do you know anything about the boss?" asked Kate.

"no. since this is the first time we enter the dungeon, I don't know much about the main boss or even if there is more than one. But I'm pretty sure that all the beasts inside the dungeon will be plant type."

After some more Q and A, Alex dismissed everybody and logged off the SR.

They were supposed to challenge the dungeon the next day, so Alex gave them the rest of the day off to relax and enjoy time with their families.

But since all of their family members were inside the paradise city, Alex was the only one who logged off.

Emily was still pretty shaken up about seeing their dad and refused to enter the SR no matter what, and Alex didn't know what to do.

He wasn't good with pep talks and didn't want to make the matter worst by saying something wrong.

At the end of the day, Alex didn't have any choice but to ask Aunt Leyla to talk to her.

He asked her a few days back, but she said it was better to wait and let her grieve alone for a few days. So Alex did as she said.

Right now, he was standing in the living room while Aunt Leyla was inside Emily's room talking to her.

It had already been an hour since she went in, and Alex was starting to get anxious.

A few minutes later, the door opened, and Aunt Leyla came out with Emily following behind her with puffy eyes and Oli in her arms.

"Sorry, Alex, I didn't want to worry you," she said and started crying again.

Alex went to her, hugged her tightly, and kissed her forehead before saying, "it's ok, I understand."

How could he not? After losing Emily in his previous life, Alex was so depressed for days that he lay still on the floor of his home without even moving an inch.

"do you want something to eat?" asked Alex worriedly.

In the last few days, Emily had lost a few pounds, and he was really worried that she might get sick.

Emily seemed reluctant about eating, but then she looked at Aunt Leyla and said, "that sounds like a good plan."

The following day, in front of the dungeon entrance.

This was a big day for the gang, and all their family members had come to the entrance for support.

When they told them about the possibility of dyeing in the SR, their family members were worried for them, but after spending so much time in the SR themselves, they knew that sooner or later, their kids had to enter a dungeon and risk their lives so what better person to go with them than Alex and Max who had gained their trust in the past few days.

"ok, I don't think it would take more than a day, but just in case, I have paid for a live stream of the dungeon run so that you could watch us from home," said Alex.

Live streaming the dungeon runs was one of the main ways for a guild to earn INBs, and it was pretty popular in his previous life.

It wasn't free, of course. The system took between 3 to 5% of the total revenue from each dungeon run, but for privet shows, a guild had to pay.

"SOOO, let's get this party started," said Alex and used the key to open the dungeon door.

As soon as the door opened, Alex and his companions got teleported inside the dungeon.
