After a couple of minutes l hear a soft knock on the door.
I open the door swiftly and reveal hazel eyes staring into me, l feel like sometimes Marlon stares deep into my soul.
"Marlon, what are you doing here?'' l ask as l motion for him to come in.
"I came to see you, l saw you crying earlier." He says still looking at me.
We sit on the couch and l switch on the television.
"What's wrong Han." He asks worried.
I sit there my mouth closed contemplating on whether to tell him.
"You don't have to feel pressured into telling me. You always say talking about things that trouble oneself makes them feel better." He adds.
"Remember the rumours you heard at school about me being left by my boyfriend." I say laughing recalling that the first days Ocean left people said l was left by my boyfriend and l was heartbroken that's why l shut down for three months straight.
They were correct about me being broken, he left a void in me.
"Yah, l do what about it." He says and concentrate on me more.
"Well, it wasn't my boyfriend he was just a very good friend of mine who left without a word. Of course l was broken because he had been my friend for about 8 years and l had used to him being around me all the time." I say and sigh.
"I saw him today, and l am afraid that we are going to be in the same class because we both had the same interest in history." I say and look at him to see what he is thinking.
Marlon had always been an open book with me, he didn't lie to me and l also was open with him, he is easy to talk to.
"Wow, that's a lot to take in." He says and looks at the TV.
"So what are you going to do if you are both in the same class." He asks.
"I don't know.'' l say honestly picking at my finger nails.
"He is the Chancellor's stepson, talk of cherry on top." I say nervously laughing.
He just keeps a straight face.
"Turn the volume up, that's my jam." Marlon stands up and start dancing to the song that had started playing on the TV.
I loved the song too, so l stood up and started dancing too.
We vibed to the next couple of songs and soon all the sadness was washed away.
"I don't want to cook today." Marlon says and l laugh.
"How about l cook for the rest of us and you just help out a little bit." I say and he smiles widely.
We end up cooking together, he prepared fish lasagna and l made a sauce to go with the lasagna.
I topped everything with blueberry muffins and vanilla ice-cream.
When Dan and Reagan came back we had supper, stayed a bit late and went to bed.
We had a pact that us girls were going to cook every day and the boys were going to be eating at our house, we were going to buy groceries together and the boys were paying every time we went out.
