As the convoy neared Lester, some buildings came into view.

However, compared to the bustling Mist River City, this city gave Jack Clark the feeling of being outdated, like something from the eighties, with dusty roads and dilapidated buildings.

Only the city center had some skyscrapers; the rest were one or two-story residential buildings, and slightly better structures were just small red-brick buildings of three or four stories.

By the time they entered the city, it had already grown dark. Jack noticed almost no one on the streets, and the people he did see occasionally disappeared quickly into the dim alleys.

Besides, the dusty roads barely had any streetlamps, with a light bulb emitting a dim yellow glow only at great intervals.
