Chapter 148: A little competition

"Because I am weak," he admitted. "My family is powerful, but they are also old and frail. I'm not nearly as important as you think."

He paused, letting his words sink into Gina's mind before continuing.

"I don't know if I'll live through another day or even if I will get the chance to see tomorrow," Michael confessed. "But I want to die knowing that I wasn't treated like scum or against the winning team. With Master E gone, the rest of the world is going to fall apart soon."

Gina shook her head, and a smile spread across her lips as she asked, "Do you know why Samantha's target is Tristan?"

Michael shook his head in response.

"Because no one else has a body that will allow her to conquer this world. When she takes Tristan's body, she will have complete control over all of the worlds," Gina explained.

"And if she succeeds, there is no stopping her," Michael finished.
