Cynthia POV
The voice echoed in my mind, clear as a bell yet impossible to believe. It was Sinacore’s voice, smooth and confident, but how was I hearing it without him being anywhere near me?
My breath caught in my throat, and I shook my head, hoping to dispel the illusion. Was I going crazy? But the voice came again, this time tinged with the same disbelief I was feeling.
‘Am I having hallucinations?’ Sinacore’s voice questioned in my mind as if he were speaking to someone else, yet I knew the words were directed at me.
My throat tightened as I swallowed hard, feeling the relentless pounding of my heart in my chest.
‘This can’t be real,’ I thought, the words loud in my mind. But a part of me, buried deep down, acknowledged the unnerving truth. How was it possible for someone to breach the sacred confines of my thoughts? And of all people, why did it have to be Sinacore, the last person on earth I would want to share my innermost thoughts with?
