My Story of Love

Chapter 1: Camila

It was an early morning in April, just a regular day. Like these late couple of weeks that had passed by, I was awake before my alarm went off. I was sitting on my bed reading Frozen Charlotte and playing music on my phone. It was around 6:30 when I finally got up off the bed. I went to the closest to pick out an outfit for today, "I don't know what I'm going to wear," I said to myself. I want to look nice today but at the same time I don't. I would usually grab a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt and let go. But today, I decided to look nice, so I grabbed a nice pair of blue jeans and a smock, boysenberry colored, shirt.

I am up before both of my parents and today my mother was up at the same time as me. She was in the kitchen making my dads food for work. "Are you up?" she called out to me.

She knew that I was awake from the music that was coming from my room but I still replied to her, "Yeah, I'm up." I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and that's when I saw my hair, it was a mess. My long black hair was up in a messy bun but half of it was falling out. Just by looking at it, I could tell it was going to be a pain getting it out and untangled.

I went back to my room to fix my hair, I got it out of the messy bun and brushed it out. My hair was always in the way of things but I didn't like to have it pulled up, I just kept it down. However, today was different, I got some hair oil and put it on the tips of my hair and then braid it. It was a simple side braid and it would get loose throughout the day and would look cuter. Because I was all dressed up, I decided to do my makeup as well. Every other day, it would just be eyeliner, mascara and some chapstick; but today I did some nature color eyeshadow, foundation, blush, my brows, eyeliner, mascara, and some lip gloss. And with that I was ready to go to school.

I was heading to the livingroom and that's when I saw my dad. I wasn't the only one who got dressed up. His short blueish black hair was brushed back and nicely styled. His clothes are even nicer than what he wore every other day. He stopped and looked at me, "I'm heading to work, I hope that you have a good day." He was acting weird, he might be nervous because he has to meet a new client or something like that.

While getting my shoes on, I replied "Well I'm off to school, too. I might be late coming, remember. I have a class meeting and I'm going to get food with my friends."

"Okay," both of my parents said at the same time. "Do you need some money?" my mother asked me.

"No, I'll be okay. I have enough, but thanks. Bye." I grabbed a black coat and my bookbag. I walked out of the house when a nice cool breeze hit my face but it looked like it wanted to rain. I walked down the steps and got into the car that was waiting for me. It was my friend Mia. Because I couldn't drive to school yet, because I was in the 10th grade in high school, she said that she would give me a ride. We don't go to the same school anymore, she graduated last year. I was so thankful for her, she helped me with everything.

I opened the door to her car and saw that she was wearing her really fancy clothes, a nice office suite. " well don't you look fancy?' I said to her laughing she usually wore sweatpants and a t-shirt.

"Look who's talking, you look cute. What's the special occasion?" she said teasing be back. "Do you want to get breakfast before heading to school? We have plenty of time."

"YESSSS please, how did you know I was hungry?" I hadn't eaten yet and I was getting really hungry, I think she heard my stomach growing. We went to McDonalds because it was close and fast. I got a Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit and a Iced Caramel Mocha, while Mia had a Sausage McMuffin with Egg and a French Vanilla Cappuccino.

In the car, we listened to music and talked about our classes and teachers. She knew some of the teachers that I had this semester and we always talked about them. I was hoping that she would meet up with me and my friends after school today but she had a job interview today and wouldn't get a chance to.

The high school was in sight when I felt my heart start to pound hard in my chest, my hand start to sweat, and I got butterflies in my stomach. I think I know why and who is making me feel like this. But I think that he might like someone else. We had met each other two months ago and I really didn't know him well but he was very nice. My other friends seemed to like him a lot, some more than just a friend.

"Thank you, again. I'll see you later or tomorrow. And good luck with your interview! Let me know how it goes,," I said to Mia.

"Thanks! I'll text you when I get out. See ya," she said as I was closing the door to her car. I went through the front doors of the school and then walked over to commons, our lunch room, to find my friends before class started.

"Look at this!!" Liam yelled out, looking at me with a grin. He was the funny one of the group. He always teases everyone but is close to them. I think it was the first time they saw me kinda dressed up.

"Good morning," I greeted them.

"Is it your birthday orr.. DO YOU HAVE A DATE TODAY?" Liam asked, making fun of me. Everyone was looking at me now.

"Yeah, it's my birthday, so where is my gift?" I said while extending my arm as if I was reaching for something.

"No for real?" Liam was also so noisy. " You never dress up like this? What is up with you?"

"What? Can I not dress differently? I am a girl after all." He always gets on my nerves. I was about to sit down when I felt someone behind me.

"Hey, everyone!" The person behind me said. I knew that voice, that voice made my heart skip a beat, my hands sweat even more, and was the reason I wanted to be in school all the time.

I turned around and there he was.
