She had not been paying much attention and hence missed the falling of the sun. The sky had started turning dark – perhaps around 6 in the evening.

She wasn't through with the novel yet, covering only about a fifth of it, but she felt the urge to get up and stretch her legs. As she rose from her seat, she heard embarrassing creaking sounds from her bones, mostly in her lower back. She didn't fret, as she was used to it happening by now.

After a full-blown stretching routine, she made her way towards the shelves and stopped before the one where the other volumes of the series were placed. There was a ladder not far away from her, but she did not use it. Instead, she simply stood there, staring straight ahead with a blank expression on her face for about 3-4 seconds before she suddenly started rising above the ground.
