Everyone had left, but Aria Grant was still sitting on the couch, trying to clear her mind, trying not to question things, but she could not help feeling heartbroken.

"The kitchen is all cleaned up, I need to step out for a bit," George Flack said matter-of-factly, as if it wasn't already ten o'clock at night.

Aria glanced at the time on her phone but didn't say much, too weary to question him.

"Alright, then be careful and come back early," Aria responded mechanically with concern.

George sensed something was off, especially compared to the intense concern and love he had shown during the day, it now seemed exceptionally indifferent.

So he didn't rush out, instead, he sat down next to Aria, gently wrapped his arms around her, and softly asked, "What's wrong? You seem a bit unhappy?"

This concern was ill-timed, Aria couldn't quite describe her feelings, like someone about to leave insisting on showing reluctant affection, as if the decision wasn't theirs to make.
