"You are pretty loaded up," Mr.Finn said while glancing at the gun Mr. Lukas was holding.
"Is that a compliment?" Mr. Lukas gulped and glazed at Finn who's his opponent. He can't distinguish between what level is he. He is being cautious because of more reasons than that.
"You seem pretty confident." Mr. Lukas exchanged glances. Finn was standing idle as if Mr. Lukas was nothing too afraid. His smirked face was giving an intense dark Vive. It was enough to gasp Mr. Lukas's attention. The floor was creaking slowly but it should no chance of breaking yet. The higher the building is the higher its chance of collapsing. Not to mention the building itself is very old.
"Sorry but I don't have time for chit-chat." Finn rounded up his body and went onward. Mr. Lukas was holding his old rusty gun all along. He aimed it but couldn't tell where's Finn coming from. Mr. Lukas's sight was blurring. He wasn't able to grasp where Finn is coming. Other than that everything was right. He was seeing one no two, no three Finn coming towards him. Tense confusion was building up inside him.
"What! Is it one of your skills?" Mr. Lukas seemed a bit frustrated as his head was spinning and he's having a hallucination.
Nevertheless, Finn was approaching him bit by bit.
"Cough! Cough!" The sound of someone coughing in pain was heard. Although it came from a distance they could hear it loud and clear.
Finn averted his sights from Mr. Lukas for a second.
"Bang!" Mr. Lukas pulled the trigger with great force. "Missed? huh." He grinned to himself as the bullet landed a far back.
"I see, You don't care for your comrades? You didn't even look at that woman(Clara) who was coughing violently."
Mr. Lukas could hear Mr. Noah shouting "You okay Clara?" But Mr. Lukas didn't concern. His motto is 'If you got yourself into a fight then fight with your life to defeat your opponent.'
"Perhaps, Are you referring to me? Well, in that case, I don't mumble in other's fight." Mr. Lukas said with a self embodiment.
"You're not a monster but I hardly find you in humans. Don't humans love to care about others more than themselves? They sacrifice themselves for others saying Noble deeds. Don't they?"
"Not all humans are the same. Just like you people. There's some with the wild ability and there's some with nothing fancy."
"You're an interesting one. I never meet someone who would advise while fighting."
Up until now Finn never fought with enthusiasm. He was only blocking Mr. Lukas's attack.
"Seems like I have to give you a better death." Finn wrapped his right hand with a black cloth. It was small like a handkerchief. He was getting ready to fight back. Mr. Lukas didn't know if Finn had any ability or not. However, he was less suspicious that he had some kind of ability at least.
"Let's fight till you kill."
Finn shouted while coming forward with intense speed. His right hand that was covered with black cloth was advancing. A black mist was forming over his right hand. It was getting larger and larger. Mr. Lukas was about to dodge it but it was too late.
"Slam!" The black mist was about to gulp him. At that moment he aimed his guns and began firing one after one.
"AHH!" She yelled as his gun was swallowing by the black mist. It was curving for more.
"What the!" He never had experience with something like this. It's just like a black hole. Finn's hand was under the black mist. He was controlling it. He was driving the mist towards Mr. Lukas constantly. A bitter smile was on Finn. He was indeed smiling but it was fake as expected. There's no way he could feel like humans.
Mr. Lukas was slowly swallowing inside but he threw a granate from his chest pocket. As he was wearing a military suit, there's granite packed on it.
"Blust!!"
A huge fire formed making the area lit up. Everyone noticed it more or less but they kept their attention on their fight.
The mist vanished in thin air and Finn backed up.
"Hah, You don't even care about your own life? You deliberately threw the granite to get off my attack and didn't even concern about your life. You could have busted with it. I thought Humans value their own life more than anything. You seemed different. Why so? Are you a suicidal manic?"
Finn tried to provoke Mr. Lukas but he didn't waver at all. He had his calm and collective expression as always. However, one thing was sure that he got hurt from the blast. It might be little or bad depending on his behavior. He held his gun tightly and marched forward.
"You think humans are weak. That's your biggest misunderstanding. We may be poor in strength and stamina but we are not poor in----"
Mr. Lukas shot the ceiling making a big chunk of concrete fall on Finn. He looked up out of instinct and that one moment he lowered his guard.
Mr. Lukas was finding the right moment to catch him off guard.
In fights, the one who uses the surroundings best for him is the true warrior. YOu have to use your conscious focus on battle and the nearby things. In one-o- one fights the players use objects like metal pipes or other heavy material to cause damage to the opponent. One could use the wall to drive the opponent's head and make a run. It would cause severe damage to the opponent. On the other hand, the opponent could also alter the damage but reversing the role.
Mr. Noah was observing the battlefield as a whole. His task was to break out from the swap army of monsters in front. They are just normal monsters with hardly any ability. Mr. Noah was handling them properly with his massive distractive machine gun. It was large in size as well as heavy. From time to time he would glaze around to see how everyone is doing. If any emergency occurs he would share it with the superior officers seating outside. They would then contact the headquarter for further orders.
Although sharing status was supposed to be a leader's task, Mr. Lukas found it painful so he dumped it onto Mr. Noah.
As a team leader, Mr. Lukas lacks motivation. Even so, he gives great direction to his team. There isn't a single fight where his order was backfired. Moreover, his acclamation went accurate in more cases so all the members rely on him greatly. However, he makes reckless decisions sometimes. For that reason, Mr.Noah guides him back on track.
"Didn't the headquarters punish him for that?" I asked Mr.Noah who was seating before me. This negotiation room recks of cigarettes. I felt suffocated for a moment.
"Don't be silly, of course, they did but we managed it somehow. If the leader makes a serious mistake that out danger others especially members the would have to be changed. We didn't want that. Mr. Lukas might be a little weird but he's a great director. He could easily guide us to victory."
"That's Coming from you….It's also weird."
"W-Wha….I hate him of course...The bit I don't hate his talents." Mr. Noah hesitated while averting his right. Did I step on the mine?
Mr.Lukas came into the room and glanced at both of us.
"Seems like it's time." Saying that Mr. Noah stood up from his chair. "I'll tell the rest of the story another day." His half-assed irritating grin was on his face. He looked at Mr. Lukas for the last time.
"Let's see if you can hold your head up this time." Then he walked out of the room. I also moved my ass out of the room after a few minutes as the smell of the cigarettes was constantly giving me a heart attack.
Mr. Lukas was still in that room gathering the files on the table. I should have stayed there. The room has no window and the ventilator was jammed. So there's a way for air to pass. Departmental workers should have noticed it. It's dangerous for people with suffocation problems.
I looked around and found out Mr. Noah was chatting with his assistance. It was that girl. Her hands were full of files. She gave me a sneer glance and went back to chatting. Mr. Noah also looked at me and waved his hand a little.
I went inside the room for helping Mr. LUkas who was one-handedly working on something. He pulled out a new pack of cigarettes and uncovered the plastic wrap. It was nicely packed one after one. He took one out of the pack and put it back inside his coat pocket. His hands were shaking but it wasn't so much. He was gazing at the photo of Jodan with great interest.
"Sir, How?----" As I was about to ask Mr. Lukas understood what I was going to ask.
"I know. But not here. Get those files and let's head back to my house." He peeked at the CCTV camera for once and headed outside. Mr. Lukas was concerned about leaking the information. Well, it's better to be cautious. There's no telling who would turn into an enemy.
When I got out of the room for the second time following Mr. Lukas, I saw an unexpected person. Well, I can't say it was unexpected.
"How's your coming Lukas? You were suspended, weren't you?"
"Oh, right. I was. Thanks for reminding me." The chief shouldn't be here without any reason. All he does is seating his luxurious room, crossing his legs. Did he come here to meet with Mr. Lukas specifically?
"Why did you come here? By mistake? or…"
"No, I left something here."
"You could just ask your junior for it. In fact, he's always sticking next to you." I felt a little embarrassed for a second. Why did he put this like that? I'm not his girlfriend whatever. But what surprised me most is that how did he know about that? I mean I was so conscious of not finding it. I don't usually go to his house during office hours. Because it would be suspicious. Was I being tallied all this time?
"See you then." Mr. Lukas cut the conversation and headed outside.
"I haven't finished talking."
"I'm currently in suspension. So I can't talk to you."
"Is that so?"
I followed Mr. Lukas hurriedly and left the Chief to his misery.
