Chapter 66: Does he even work?

"This is tiring. Delivery Girl is not fun as it seems." As I was feeling rather tired from doing all those deliveries, I looked up to see the sky. It was clouded with black clouds. it seemed like it was about to rain. However, it wasn't like that at the moment. I remember correctly that when departed from the shop. I got late because of that son of a bit*ch Sutasi. Why was he so slow? I think he slowed down because of me. Shit, I hate more than capsicum. I turned the checklist. I was given a list of every delivery place. It was Mr.Heiress who handled it. He would get up early to make one. Ah, he works too hard. That gives me much motivation. I wonder how he was able to work so hard. On the other hand, that Jodan bastard, I hardly saw him working. Does he even work?

"...hmm it's gonna be a heavy rain that's to be sure." Looking out the side window I muttered. I don't usually like or hate rainy days. In most cases, I hate it because of muddy roads. It makes turning risky. the truck is heavy as it is. It adds more pain to drive this large vehicle. I was only passing the time thinking nonsense. I needed to spend this time talking to myself or thinking about something or else I would fall asleep and got into a serious accident.

"Ah, Fu*k!" I screamed out as I felt the headache I hated most. I happened to get those headaches from time to time.

"Luna, you're a monster!"

"Luca, you can't live here."

"Shut the hell up, Bitchs!" I yelled at nobody. Why did I remember that out of nowhere? That orphanage. I hate it.

The moment I saw those memories, I got pretty irritated.

I clearly remember every bitches face. I would be in peace if I got to kill every one of them. Tch, it sucks. I quickly snapped back as I reached my destined place. I safely parked the truck in front of the shop named 'Rowas Kittichen' it's a chain shop that runs through the world. There are two in CPA-4 and the others are across the world. This one is close to our shop. They are our regular customers. After all, they run a food shop. Each day they need hundreds of kilos of meat. Not only that they also appear to order more on special occasions, for example, Christmas and more.

As I got down from the truck a fat man came to me. He had a big grin on his face. His mustache was wet. Probably because of sweat. Fat people sweat a lot. Appereantly he's the manager of this branch. His height was rather small though he was quick to work. Calling him a manager would sound odd but that's what he is.

"Yo, what's up!" I greeted him with my way. He seemed to understand the meaning and delivered his greeting.

"Hehe, you seemed to be in good mood. Luna."

"Well, as you can see I'm." I can't even swear in front of him as Mr.Heriss gave me a warning.

"Mind your tongue before him. He's a man of virtue. Don't let your bad mouth slip."

Shit, I hated it. I averted my boring face from his rounded sweaty one.

"here." Without talking much I got right into business. I handed the order list that was given to me. There was written the amount of product, quality, etc. Well, I don't care what's written there. What's left for me was to unlock the truck back for the employees to get the goods out. that being said I unlocked the back with the designated keys. Most of my job is done. Now, I just have to wait as they unloading it. it would take some moments. in the meantime, I could take a bite. I sat outside the shop on one of the tables laying out. As I thought about that, an item covered with white paper appeared in front of my hungry eyes.

"huh?" I reacted out of instinct.

"Eat it. You must be hungry." The one who should be the kind was none other than the fat manager. When did he sit next to me? I was so engrossed with my thoughts that I didn't even notice his presence.

"You don't have to be sly about it. Think of it as a treat from me." did this dude want to flirt with me? I was off guard for a second. This dude had taken the advantage. I have to be cautious of him. He looked like a normal person though. Finding no other way. No, That would be wrong. I was so hungry that I couldn't resist his over and took the initiative to take the sandwich. It was a meat one.

"There's gonna be rain today." You now noticed it? The universe knows it.

"hmm." I nodded while gulping the sandwich he gave me. Now, I have to answer him. Fu*k what a pain! This is why I don't like people's favor. They would use you without even knowing.

"Have you done with all the deliveries? You should head home because there's gonna be a storm."

Wait, WHat?

"Isn't it just rain?" I asked with a painful face. I didn't want him to think of me as a loser.

"No, It doesn't appear that way." He pointed his fatty finger towards the black cloud that formed within the sky.

"True. Either way, I have nothing to do with it. I got errands to run. I can't just run from it."

"You're quite responsible. I didn't think of you to appear like that." What exactly do you think of me? A scum bag?

This guy is giving me no chills.

"Looks like they're done," I said glancing at the truck's back door closing. One of the employees did a favor of closing the door, making my life a bit easy.

"See you then."

"Yeah, have a safe journey." I parted ways from him.

I got into the truck swiftly and turned the engine on. All of a sudden my phone that was laying next to me began ringing outrageously.

"huh? Mr.Heriss?" Seeing the name I reacted with a bit of surprise. Surprisingly, he never calls me during my work time. What went wrong today?

"Hello" I picked it up without having any second thought.

"Oh! I see…"

"That Brat!" I unwantedly cursed.

Chapter 67: I see why you didn’t die

"Step"

"Kick"

"How does it feel like? Is it painful? Tell me."

I was only defending myself while holding my gut that's being kicked constantly. I don't know what my rage has gone somewhat.

"Hey! Fight back!"

"I can't."

"Why? Already give up?" His voice was awfully Loud. It hurts my head.

"I-I can't kill a human."

"Huh? Didn't you attack me a moment ago? What was It?"

"It's my fault. I lost control of myself."

"Then you have to lose control again. I wanna see how strong you are."

"Why did he became like this? You're a human. You can lead a normal life, not like me whose fate is already tied."

I coughed slightly slitting blood.

He stopped kicking and thought for a while. He was looking up at the sky while muttering something.

"Why... did I become like this? Why…."

I wasn't able to hear him clearly. Was his life pathetic like mine?

"Bullshit."

That was something is said while backing his eyes on me.

"It's all bullshit. I don't care about that at all. Now, get up and fight me. I was born to fight. The only goal of my life is to fight."

Without making another conversation, I tried to get up. I know he wouldn't back off until I fight for my life.

"your knives…"

"look, those blades are made out of carbon steel. I got my hands on those when hunting underground. You know you would find several illegal treasures down there. Not to mention the one who gave was someone who's directly connected to the police force. They made those blades to especially kill monsters like you and I see it's pretty effective." It appears he was much proud of his weapons.

"You haven't noticed why are you so weak?" Wasn't that because I confined myself? I was getting weak?

"I got those blades in hands but I wasn't impressed. I felt like something was missing." His eyes filled with dark energy. The energy that possessed the mischief.

"I invented an acid that can weaken the monster. I added it on the blades making it more deadly than ever. It can easily kill any level three ones. I see why you didn't die. That means you're higher than that."

Just who is this guy? Why was he so engaged in this fight? He isn't even a monster.

*********** [Kurama's Warehouse]

"Then what? How was he possibly able to become the king of the underground overnight?

Kurama nodded nonchalantly. The line between me and Kurama was vast. He's a guy that lives in a whole different world. Now that I looked at him he appeared to be having no fun making a conversation with me. In his eyes, I'm just a dumb and boring person who curves for excitement.

"Nicolai is someone who possesses enormous knowledge. But he's a human.

And humans are not perfect. They lack one way to other. He has intense salvation for fighting is something that can't be unnoticed. Perhaps the tragic incident at his young age made him the one he's now. Whether he's just a poor little kid who lost his parents or an elite in life. He suppresses humans in talent and closes to monsters."

They're nothing to be shocked. Nicolai had lived in the midst of us. Not even I was able to identify him as a human.

How was he able to hide his presence so diligently? Since he was a human it must be very hard. No matter what I could digestive the thing he runs away from his dying parents and got himself in the underground. Al last became the ki god it. It's too much for a kid hole was. Every now and then I kept asking the same question again and again.

"There's one more person who I find interesting other than Nicolai."

Kurama grinned malice. I know the other one wasn't me.

"I see," I said as I understood who he meant.

"Is Fiona doing her job well?"

"Oh, that woman. He first neglected it but when I said it was from you, she rushed."

She appears to be a very complicated person. She never listens to others except for Kurama. I wonder why Kurama took her in. She hardly does any work other than eating.

I didn't want to imagine that. I had a rare flashback of that woman in the slaughtering room. She is an animal. An animal who eats nothing but flesh. Eek, that made me lose my appetite.

I was beginning to get out of the warehouse but at that moment I said Kurama muttering.

"How long are you gonna hold it back, Jodan? The day will come very soon when you have to give in."

"Seems like something bigs gonna happened. But it isn't today." I walked past the gate.

"Sir, Everything okay?" One of my men asked me. What was his name again? Well, I don't remember.

"Here's fine. Did you sent what I told you to?"

"Yes! I have done it. I got into some trouble at first. But when I told your name they let me in."

"As long you didn't spill the bean it's okay."

Apperently, I had to maintain a healthy relationship with the police department. No, A rather I'll relation. Especially with the Chief. He's a greedy person. If I have to name someone who is human but not a human from the heart that would be him. He has everything that is needed to make him called a human. However, he's total scum. Either way, he helps us in most ways. He also helped me to make an appointment with Rener. What really is truly being human? Was it to have a life like him? Or a wanting a normal life working as a corporate slave. The more I think about it the more I got lost. Humans are complex beings. Even if you spend your entire time studying I hardly believe that one can get to a conclusion. My father died doing that. His mind was more twisted than any of us. Although he worked hard to get to the bottom of it, he failed in the end.
