Chapter 231: Evaluation

After providing the new citizens with the things they needed, I headed back to my house. Chloe was with me and she was looking at me in confusion, as if I had done something she wasn't expecting from me at all. She kept looking at me like that, so finally I asked her, "What's wrong?"

"What was that? You were so kind to those people. I can't believe what I just saw. I knew you weren't going to treat them like slaves, but I also didn't know you were going to do that."

"You mean the minion I provided to the old couple?"

"Yeah, I didn't expect that from you."

"Well, the old couple is going to die soon and this gesture of mine will make people loyal to me. This is all I was doing at that point."

"Now I understand, but how do you know the old couple will die soon?"

"I don't know, but my minion will make sure they get to the other side as soon as possible."

"What do you mean?" She had many questions in her eyes.
