You okay, Lil Bunny."
I looked up to see Damian Jones, the varsity QB. Wait, did he just call me a Lil Bunny? He extended his hand towards me and pulled me up with no effort. Not surprising.
"In a hurry, squirt?" A familiar voice called me, it was Joseph. I nodded in response. Oh did I forget to tell you that Joseph is our schools' varsity football team's WR. He then came over and ruffled my hair even messier than it was, and then he handed my glasses back.
"I need to go now," I said shyly and ran to my class. I could never look them in the eye. They were all tall, muscular and everything I'm not, I was jealous of them. I don't know why but I've always had a body complex. And I'm not proud of it.
*Damian's POV*
"Hey, I heard it's your brother's birthday today? So you're gonna ditch and come to an awesome party downtown or you're gonna be a good big brother?" Max laughed as he ranted about this 'awesome party' of his. Joseph was on his phone looking at something.
"Sorry, gonna be with my brother."
"Pfft, lame." Joseph glared at Max for that remark.
"It's not lame. My mom makes an amazing all-you-can-eat buffet. And it's a family tradition. Also, I wouldn't miss that even if my life depended on it. Besides, what good will it be if I went to that 'awesome party' of yours? FYI they are never awesome." Max made a hurtful expression and clutched his chest. Joseph was a family man. Even though he refuses to admit it. He's going to make his future wife happy.
"So, have you picked out a present yet?" I asked.
"I don't know what to get him. He likes this weird internet cat. Something called pushpussy or something."
"Pusheen." Andrew corrected. We looked at him with confused faces. "What, my sister likes it. She begs me to buy her that weird merch that I'm almost broke."
"Jane is crazy and hot." remarked Max, which caused Andrew to smack his head.
"Well tough luck, she already has a boyfriend, he's Jamie's friend, Dennis."
"Well, it's her loss." Max shrugged.
"GAS!" we all remarked at the same time.
"But Jane got Jamie something yesterday. It was that cat, but a unicorn cat keychain. That shit is weird."
"Damn, Dennis might have gotten him one too. Maybe I'll get him a plush toy."
"Plush toy, dude he's a dude."
"Well my Jamie likes those things and it suits him." Joseph held his stand, emphasis on 'my'. He has a strong defensive brother complex. I have seen his brother only once when we were kids. He was petit and cute, the reason why you'd want to protect him.
We walked to the gym together. Our first period was P.E so we were all together. I was about to take a turn when I bumped into someone. I looked to see who it was, but no one was there. I looked down to see a small frail boy in an oversized hoodie with fluffy blonde hair. He reminded me of a rabbit, minus the ears.
"You okay, Lil Bunny?" I said as I held out my hand. He looked at me as confused as I was, I pulled him up, surprisingly with no effort. That's when I got a better look at him, and let me tell you, he was a little rabbit. His eyes Cristal blue and big/sparkly that perfectly fit with his huge round glasses, his little upturned nose, and his rosy kissable lips. If I was alone I would have kissed him by now. Miraculously I held back.
"In a hurry, squirt?" Joseph picked up his glasses and ruffled his already messy hair to make it messier. He didn't speak much and had his head down all the time and left in a rush.
"Dude, who was that cutie?" Max asked the hornball he was.
"That cutie was my little brother." Joseph proudly exclaimed. Again, emphasis on 'cutie' and 'my'.
"WHAT! He doesn't look like a 'he' at all." Max exclaimed. Before I could say anything, I stepped on something. I looked down to see a small pack, unopened. It was a keychain. Looked like a cat eating pizza.
"Hey did your brother drop this?"
"Maybe... Andrew, did your sister give this to Jamie?"
"No, the one she gave was a unicorn cat. That one is probably from Dennis. He and Jane went out and bought it together."
"Looks like he dropped it when he bumped into a big tree here," Max said, patting my shoulder, "Also can I come to your brother's party?" He asked with a creepy smile.
"Gross, no," Joseph replied, making a disgusted face, "no way in hell."
"Oh come on dude, why are you making such a face?"
"Cause you sound like a pedo trying to get it on with a little boy," Andrew commented.
"What, no, I'm not into guys. Besides, I just want to celebrate his birthday. What is he, 15?"
"16,"
"Exactly. And he looks like the type that doesn't have enough friends. I just want to be his friend. Also, I wanna eat at your mum's all-you-can-eat buffet." Max explained acting like he has a halo above his head.
"Nope, two reasons: first- it's a family tradition so no one is allowed apart from close family, and second- I would never-even if my life depended on it- letting you anywhere near my brother." Joseph exclaimed.
"Dude, that's just cold."
