Of course, the inhuman screech from earlier had completely alerted the security guards. I saw multiple flashlights headed towards my direction, causing me to frown. I immediately picked Damien up, placing one of his arms around my shoulders and firmly holding on to it, and ran into the woods. I managed to get away before the guards could take a look at my face.

The guards did not give up and started chasing me down, running into the woods and following me tightly. However, as I had my night vision goggles on, I had a slight advantage over the other guards, as they would need to be constantly on guard from a potential ambush or tripping from a tree branch. Meanwhile, I simply placed the unconscious Damien in front of me as a meat shield, allowing him to take the brunt of the attacks from the handing tree branches.
