It definitely sounded like someone was crying.
She was the only one around, until she noticed the sound was coming from the guide stone. "....Night?"
An audible gasp was heard along with hushed sniffling. "Sky?! you survived?? how? are you okay? What happened? " Night was speaking so fast without waiting for her responses. "I'm okay Night, I just got a little scratched up. There was a huge Monster though it ended up running away after I attacked it." Helena pat her shoulder as she said this.
Night was stunned, she survived. She really survived.
A wave of relief hit him as he hurriedly wiped his tear stained face. He was so focused on how she survived he completely glossed over the fact that the monster ran from her attack instead of her being able to escape.
"So Night, shall we continue on this journey while that monster is retreating?" Night was against trying to continue on while she was injured but they really needed to continue on to finish that venture.
"Alright, just be careful. " By now Night knew Sky would do as she pleased despite his warnings. So he just had to be more vigilant and keep her from running into danger again. He would trust her instincts without question next time.
This time when Helena stepped onto the mountain nothing happened. There was no snow storm and she didn't feel any piercing gazes. The part of the mountain where Night guided her towards was slowly sloped so it felt like she was walking up a hill rather than a mountain. She was amazed at the difference in plant life on this mountain compared to the forest.
nothing was the same, even the trees are different.
As Helena walked along she could feel her wounds closing and there wasn't very much pain as she walked. She silently thanked the monster for not harming her legs or this walk would be unbearable to continue on.
Helena had gotten into the habit of picking any new flowers or small plants she saw and adding them into her storage pouch as her new hobby. There was plenty of room so she just enjoyed that she could see them later on too. There weren't many color variations on this mountain, only blues and whites. White tree trunks and almost silvery white bushes. The leaves ranges from a baby blue to a Royal blue. The leaves of each tree were different shades of blue. "it's so beautiful.." she trailed off.
The higher she climbed the colder it got, though there wasn't much snow at all at the bottom besides what that monster created. Now that she was further up there is snow everywhere. As she changed into a warmer outfit she remembered that she could use this as a testing ground for her fire magic. She promised not to use it since the flame magic was dangerous back home. "It should be fine if there is snow everywhere right?" Without waiting another moment she used her most powerful spell she had back home.
[Scorch!] Helena was excited to see how powerful this spell has become in this world. But to her surprise it was only a small flicker of flame at her fingertips. No matter how much power she put into it, it was no larger than a candles flame. She spent the next while trying all her flame spells with no better results. Helena felt saddened but quickly cheered up.
Since her best spell was mediocre at best here, maybe it swapped all her spell potentials. The ones she sucked at are so far, amazing here.
Helena had never been more proud to have been weak with most magic before. "I wonder if Ice will work..."
She has been mumbling trying spell after spell.
Soon she made a house of ice and laughed . She could even control the shape very well. It wasn't very big, just enough to stand or lay down in and sleep within it.
The weather on this mountain had been calm so far but soon she realized it was unpredictable. Not long after she built this shelter the sky darkened and snow began to fall more and more. The longer she stood there the more she noticed the wind picking up speed. How lucky was it that she made this thing or else she would have been caught without any shelter from the cold.
Although it was made of ice and was cold in itself. But who is she to complain about having shelter on a mountain when it's this dark, even if it's made of ice, it could block the chilling wind and snow from making her freeze to death.
Helena pulled out a thick blanket and put it on the ice floor before laying down and covering the doorway with ice. She bundled up in her blanket and just as she was about to fall asleep she couldn't help but mumble "Goodnight Night. I'm going to take a rest.." She fell asleep before she could even hear his reply.
As Helena woke up she could tell the storm ended and it was calm outside, but she hadn't thought about how she would open the door when she woke up.
Helena pondered how fire wouldn't work, maybe wind?
[Wind] all that came from that was blowing chilled air into her face. She thought about how maybe she could condense it into a smaller area and maybe it would do more damage. After much trial and error she finally got the wind to cut through the ice. She couldn't be happier with her magic, everything was new and amazing. The door fell without a thud since the snow piled up and made a cushion on the ground.
The snow was up to her knees now and it was a lot harder to walk around. After an hour of wading through the snow, she just wanted to get out of the snow already or even stay in that ice house. But she knew there was a very high possibility of being buried alive in that house and freezing to death.
Helena was losing strength and was running out of food. "How much longer do I have to go before I can leave this place? I'm tired Night, " Night felt the pain in her voice and said "I can't see where you are because of the guide stone rules so I don't know how much longer, but I can see a structure near you. I can't guarantee if it's friendly or hostile.. would you like to go?" After weighing her options " I need to get out of the cold, I'll go"
It took another 20 min to reach the structure and Night had to stay behind while she entered into an unknown place. To Helena's surprise it was a mansion, it had a big yard although covered in snow.
As she came closer to this place she noticed something she only ever saw in fairytale books, a carriage. And there were a lot of them leaving this mansion one after another. By the time she reached the gate the last carriage had long since left
As she walked into the yard to seek shelter from the cold the gate slammed behind her which made her jump.
Those gates were 3 times as tall as she was, now she couldn't leave even if she wanted to. The only way left to go was forward. Helena took a deep breath and stepped towards the unknown wondering if they would help her.
Due to life things I took a long break.
