Chapter 7: Healing up
It was first thing in the morning, and Theo opened his eyes only to see a young girls face across from his own. His felt his face heat up. She was such a pretty girl. Theo sat up and heard Evania invite him to breakfast. Theo barely touched his breakfast before he stood up to go find Helena, but before he could a small face popped in front of his own.
He blushed and got shy, "Who are you? my name is Eustacia." Eustacia had just woken up and saw the strange boy in her home. She was a naturally friendly child. She grabbed his hand and started dragging him to the main room where she kept her toys.
"Eustacia. it's time for breakfast right now. Theo, Helena is fine but she needs her rest. You should eat your food while she sleeps." They both flinch and look at Evania while they slowly make their way to the table. Theo just nodded his head.
Helena woke up to the sound of laughter. Theo was giggling while running around the house with Eustacia playing tag. She stretched her arms high above her head and looked at the sun high in the sky. As she hobbled out of bed and towards the giggles, she felt a hand hold onto her shoulder to give her support.
Avel helped her to the table and everyone ate lunch together. Theo kept staring at Helena feeling sorry and guilty for her injury. Every so often she noticed his piercing gaze fall away from her and it turned into him sneaking glances at Eustacia before returning his stare to her.
While they were eating Helena asked "Do you think after dinner we can have that tea we talked about yesterday?". The kids grimaced at the sound of bitter tea while Evania was scared to death of it , but she decided to put her life into Helena's hands. After a bit of consoling Helena convinced Theo to let her chat with Avel and Evania. The children ran off to play while the adults stayed at the table with the tea Evania prepared.
The couple stared at her wide eyed when as she sipped the tea. Neither of them touched the tea until she emptied her cup. She was fine.. Was this really a cure? With a rush of courage and a drive to survive Evania drank the tea in one go. Avel followed his wife and swallowed this potentially deadly liquid.
After the three drank the tea, there were two cups left and Helena instructed both of them to save it for themselves at dinner. "But we need to soak a few more flowers petals for tomorrow." Avel went and plucked 3 flowers and soaked the petals.
The couple talked a lot about their lives here in these woods they call home. Eustacia was 9 years old and was giddy when she heard Theo was 10 years old.
She finally found a friend her age! Theo just awkwardly smiled at her thrilled face.
Theo's eyes soon grew wide and sparkled when he heard about Avel being a monster hunter. He was in awe at him shooting the bow at all those bad monsters.He couldn't hide his enthusiastic gaze when he heard about his days as an Adventurer.
They talked so long it started getting dark. Evania quickly made dinner while Avel kept talking to the excited kids about his days as an Adventurer. When he fought through the dungeon below the Ice mountain near Bilhon City up north and made it out unscathed. He even got an award for being the first person to delve to the 26th level of the monster caverns within it's depths and return alive.
After they had dinner the kids were sent to bed. It didn't take long for either of them to pass out. After they fell asleep, the couple gulped down the cold tea.

Helena smiled and picked to continue to cure the outbreak. "It seems you and I are cured from the Tirbre Fever Avel. Though it seems Theo and Eustacia have been infected as well." They looked at Helena and were shocked. Did she say cured? No. Wait. Before that. Avel rushed to Helena and grabbed her shoulders "Eustacia was infected? How badly? How do you know?" She explained the Venture she had to him.
He was unaware such a Venture existed. One to cure Tirbre Fever if you knew how to cure it? And it rewards multiple gold coins? In such a place like this, not being anywhere near a city and not a monster hunt. It was giving out multiple gold coins? That's unheard of.
Soon enough sleep pulled her into it's sweet embrace and she happily fell into it. The next morning The kids were convinced to drink the tea as well. Although Theo was cured after a cup, Eustacia needed 2 cups and she would be fine. It was a mystery how Evania was so much worse off than the rest of her family.
The day passed quickly and everyone went to bed.
Helena felt like her leg had healed up quite a bit. she quietly left the house and called out to Night.
He answered her in a grumpy tone," What in the world happened? If you were fine you should have said something sooner."
Helena explained the best she could but Night only understood she was attacked by a beast and was injured. That she has been safe but couldn't really move around. Everything else was pretty muffled and he couldn't understand. "I just need a couple more days and we will travel along again. I'm sorry if I worried you" Night shrugged and said he would take a couple days of rest too then.
Helena felt a shiver down her spine and spun around.
Only for her eyes to meet a glowing pair of eyes staring at her from a distance. She felt really scared looking at those eyes. Helena softly bid Night Goodnight.
She slowly and carefully backed away until her back hit the door of the house. She reached her hand to open the door and slip in the house, and shut the door. Helena was very aware that those eyes never looked away from her. Not even once did they blink. She felt so unsettled by those eyes.
Time flew by and it was the last day to completely cure the Tirbre Fever outbreak. Everyone saw how life was entering Evania's eyes and movements. Evania was no longer feeling like she was on deaths doorstep. As she drank a cup of this tea at lunchtime
the Venture cube appeared in front of Helena.

As soon as she tapped to accept the reward the bottom of the cube opened and 7 gold coins fell out.
Because she wasn't prepared for it, they just fell onto the floor. Avel and Evania who knew of her venture were still shocked. This death sentence of Tirbre Fever was truly cured? Evania cried and thanked Helena profusely. She could never repay this child enough for what she did for her family.
As soon as Helena completed the Venture, she knew . Theo and herself would need to leave soon to continue their journey. With her leg mostly cured it was time to move on from this place.
Healing was incredible here, she never knew there were methods of healing wounds as fast as this one healed. Back home while magic was abundant, The healing was very far behind this world
