Chapter 80: I knew he wanted something in return
Inspector Rishi Gupta drove not his police van but his personal car along the streets of Old Delhi, his father Major general Gupta had called him earlier during his discussion with Prakash at the Municipal Bureau.
He was currently in North avenue heading towards Old Delhi's Airport. His father, major general Gupta's flight was expected to land by 3pm. By his time, it was already 1:30pm.
He could have easily called on the Gupta's family driver to go pick his father up but major general Gupta had always preferred that he comes pick him up personally, and that is why his father called him in the first place instead of the family driver.
inspector Rishi Gupta drove along North avenue but he decided to divert to east west lane because he saw a hoodlum being chased by a man who saw him stealing a bag from an old lady.
The police had not gotten there yet, so he decided to apprehend the criminal himself. It didn't take him long to pursue and catch the hoodlum with his car.
After he came down from his car and apprehended the criminal, the man who was pursing the hoodlum, caught up to them, and was almost out of breaths.
He then thanked inspector Rishi Gupta for apprehending the man, that he saw the criminal stealing the bag that was now in the hands of the inspector from an helpless old Lady. Please give the bag back to the old lady, the inspector instructed and handed over the bag to him.
The man then took the bag from the inspector, the police had come bye by this time. Inspector Rishi Gupta then handed the man over to the police, the police took him and arrested him.
The police then asked the man to give the bag to the old lady, afterwards, he should come with her to the police station so that they can write their statements. The nearest police station was in East West lane.
Inspector Rishi Gupta, entered his car back, reversed to North avenue and continued his journey to the Old Delhi Airport.

Sonal and Jumpa were working with the maintenance team to prepare the studios for the next days' show, she decided to help because she was interested in learning about maintenance although it is not in her job description.
As for Jumpa, her family was a middle class one, learning more skills and taking advantage of new opportunities was the order of the day at her family home.
Sonal's phone rang, she picked it up at the first ring. Hello, she said, hello baby the caller responded. Yes Yash what is it? she asked him. Baby look I know you upset with me, but thanks for covering up for me, Yash spoke but didn't apologized.
Covering up for you? Sonal asked. Yes baby, your mum called me earlier today, and thanked me for taking care of you, staying with you over at the hospital and buying you new sari for work today.
Baby I want to make it up to you, I will pay for your sari, for the one you bought earlier, and I also sent you a new sari, you should be getting it soon.
So tell me baby, how much did you buy your new outfit? Yash asked. Is there something you want Yash? Sonal replied his question with another question.
Baby must I want something? I don't like this attitude of yours Sonal, why must you be mean to me? you know what? as the good man that I am, I would still send the money to you, I have your account number, so would send you the value of the Sari I bought.
You better be nice to me, treat me better and give me the free company promotion for a month as I have requested of you before. Yash didn't wait for Sonal to respond before he hung up.
This was typical of his behaviour, I knew he wanted something in return, Yash has never done anything good or nice for me without expecting anything in return, Sonal said to herself.
Before she could get back to helping out the maintenance team, her phone rang again. This time around, she did not look at who the caller was, she just picked it and with an upset tone she answered.
What do you want this time around? she asked. Sonal it's me Desha, who got you upset? Oh Desha, it's you! sorry about that, thought you were someone else calling, Sonal replied.
Alright, I thought as much, anyway I called because I would be coming over to the entertainment studios to see you, Desha responded. Sonal looked at her wrist watch and asked her what time she would be coming over.
That would around 4pm, my classes ends by 3 today, Desha replied. Oh Desha, am leaving work early today, you know what? I would come see you on campus upper week. Would that be alright? Sonal asked.
Yes it would be alright, alright have a nice day Sonal, Desha replied excitedly. Have a great day Desha, Sonal replied as the call ended.
At the Singh mansion....
Prakash, Ajay, Pulkit and Sagar decided to play PS5 to pass away the time before they go back to Old Delhi Hospital to visit Jasmine.
As at the time they went back there in the morning, visiting hours were already over, they then decided to come to the Singh Mansion. Ajay made some home made popcorn, then they washed it down with Chilled Soda, now they are currently engrossed in their video game.
At the old Delhi Airport...
Inspector Rishi drove his car towards the parking lot for cars. He got there just in time to received his dad, Major general Gupta and colleague major general Arora.
He came down from his car, locked it and went inside the terminal. He stood there with a sign indicating his father's name. He raised it up just like the others who came there to welcome and get their family and friends.
He didn't wait long before his father and colleague showed up with their assistants and came to him. Major general Gupta had informed his son and family he was coming home to leave the next day back to his military base the.
Major general Arora didn't inform his family because he wanted to surprise them. If he had done that, Madam Shruti would unfailingly have sent the Arora family driver to go pick him up at the airport.
Namaste dad, namaste uncle, then he bent down to touch their feet respectively. Namaste son, his father replied and touched his head to bless him.
Namaste Rishi, major general Arora equally replied and touched his head to bless him. It was a happy occasion for all three of them.
On proceeding outside of the airport to the car parking lot, Inspector Rishi didn't have to carry the light luggage of both his dad and colleague, their assistants had carried it for them respectively.
When they got there, inspector Rishi used his car remote to open his car, then requested that the luggage of both major generals be put in the booth of his car. By this time, both his dad and colleague had sat at the back of his car.
After the assistants did that, he asked them to come in the vehicle he had booked for them. So while he drove both generals in his car, the hired taxi drove the assistant and followed behind him as he had instructed.
At the Old Delhi hospital...
Evening visiting time came, the guys were the first to get there. Naturally Ajay went in first to visit his sister Jasmine who was still heart broken but not in any health danger anymore.
As he was inside her hospital ward, the girls Sonal, Zara and Jumpa came. Sonal and Jumpa came in the Arora family car while Zara came in the Ashoka family car. They met outside the hospital.
As the girls got closer to the lobby of Jasmine's hospital ward, Prakash had his eyes fixed on Sonal, Pulkit had his eyes fixed on Zara, while Sagar looked but at non of them in particular.
Immediately Prakash said she is gorgeous, Pulkit mentioned she is beautiful, and Sagar said nothing, he only shook his head to acknowledge what his buddies said.
Then Ajay who just came out of Jasmine's ward, said, you look good together Prakash, have been meaning to tell you that since last night at the hospital before you and Sonal went away together.
By this time, the girls had gotten to them, on hearing what Ajay said, Zara then spoke to Sonal, oh wow! you too spent the night together? Jumpa then said, somebody has been really naughty lately.
Sonal blushed and replied them, girls nothing happened, although we were in same room but nothing happened alright? Oh really girl? Zara asked, then Jumpa said, oh look, they even wearing matching outfits.
Sonal knew her girls were not upset with her, although she had told them earlier today that she had stayed overnight at the hospital, she was not worried but she replied by saying cut it out girls, we here for Jasmine not to talk about my love story.
On hearing that, Pulkit moved to Zara, took her hand, kissed it and said sweetly, but we can talk about our love story, everybody then laughed. Though everyone laughed, Pulkit and Zara felt a strong connection between them.
Jasmine then went in to see her best friend Sonal, and as usual she brought fresh fruits. while she was still inside, Zara and Jumpa came in. Jasmine was delighted to see them all.
After a while, the girls came out, then Sagar went in alone, when he came outside, Prakash and Pulkit then went in together to see her respectively.
When visiting hours were over, Jasmine didn't want them to leave but Ajay promised her that he would come and take her home when the doctor discharges her the next day before she willingly allowed them leave.
As both the guys and girls were leaving the hospital, Sonal mentioned that Jasmine loved eating at White Chillies, and suggested that they all go there and have dinner.
They all agreed, the guys had come in the cab hired by Prakash, so they went to White Chillies with same cab and the girls followed with the cars they came in with.
At Arora Mansion...
Inspector Rishi had dropped Major general Gevan and his two assistants at the Arora mansion. While his assistants were in his boys quarters, he was being briefed on what has been happening to his daughter's best friend Jasmine after he had freshened up and had dinner.
Major general Gevan was shocked and was very worried initially when he heard about Jasmine, he only calmed down when his wife informed him that Jasmine was better now.
And our child Sonal, how is she? he asked his wife. She responded by telling him Sonal was okay but she stayed over at the hospital with Yash the previous night, went to work today and should be home soon.
Madam Shruti then asked him if he wasn't aware that Jasmine was hospitalized. He replied her that he was not aware, and told her about the closed door meeting with the president in the morning.
By this time, the media had already gained access, was permitted and had broadcasted the reason the presidency had a closed door meeting with the major generals.
With all the worries for Sonal for not coming home last night and Jasmine for being hospitalized, madam Shruti didn't listen to the news earlier today.
Madam Shruti had also told him that when she admitted Jasmine, she had to call the military base, to release her brother Ajay to come to her. Major general Gevan acknowledge that and wondered whom Ajay must have come with to Old Delhi hospital to visit Jasmine.
