Adam leans against the nearby cream colored wall, "Listen Lewis, there is nothing going on between me and Victoria. I have made sure that she has a place to stay away from the officers."
"I am more positive than the first light has been invented that you 2 have done something." Lewis walks over to his cabinet and opens it up. He reaches inside to grab a piece of beef and closes the cabinet.
Adam chuckles, "She is sure a beauty, but why would she love an outsider like me? Who has a worse reputation than her own?"
"The only thing that you are bad at is by keeping those other ruffians in check." Lewis turns around and walks over to his stove. He grabs a pan from a hook and puts it down on the stove. He puts the meat down onto the pan and goes over to reach a candle before lighting the stove to cook the beef.
"The only thing that you are bad at is by telling me that tis alright to hang out with them." Adam snarls at Lewis.
Lewis chuckles, "You are 29 years old, you are more than capable to work things out on your own." He begins to cook the beef.
Adam pouts at Lewis, "Oh please, I am more than capable of beating the shit out of you, old man."
Lewis grabs a spatula, "Watch yourself youngster, one of us has a weapon while the other only has his fists."
Adam raises up a fist, "Wanna fight me?"
"Do you want to eat?"
Adam lowers his fist and backs up a bit, "Y-Yes..."
Lewis smiles, "Good! Now go get your woman, she could be helpful in cooking."
Adam turns around and goes out to the living room to see Victoria sitting on the couch with a smile on her face. He felt himself smile a bit and walks over to her.
Victoria hears footsteps approaching her and she turns towards him. She no longer smiles as she stares at him.
"Are you free enough to help cook?" Adam places his hands onto his hips.
Victoria stands up and cups her hands together, "I am not doing anything."
Adam nods and leads Victoria to the kitchen. He watches her to begin helping Lewis out with cracking eggs and cutting up vegetables.
Victoria has been helpful doing what Lewis asks her to do without question. She even helped set the table and didn't think twice about putting forks and knives in their correct places while Lewis was cutting up the meat for the 3 of them. It made Victoria feel better as she turns to see Adam leaning against a wall. His back was against the wall while he was examining everything, it made Victoria want to know what it's like to be able to relax like him. She set down the last plate and walks over to Lewis to get the cooked vegetables and put them into a bowl.
Lewis smiles at Victoria, "You have been a great help."
Victoria feels herself wanting to smile, but she chooses not to. She picks up the bowl and brings it over to the table and looks over at Adam, "Are you going to be taking a seat?"
"I will soon enough." Adam smiles at her as well.
Everyone has been so kind to her today. If it were Isabelle that was talking to Victoria, she would avoid the conversation entirely and refuses to ask her about if she is going to be able to make it on her own. Isabelle does make sure that she is alright mental wise, but Victoria soon stops in her tracks that what if Isabelle isn't really her friend? But rather someone who is using her for their own gain. She looks up to see a woman standing in the nearby corner. She squints a bit at the corner until a hand goes onto her shoulder. Shaking Victoria out of her gaze.
Lewis says happily, "Thank you for helping in cooking! Let's dig into this food!"
Victoria turns towards the table to see everything is set. There is cups of water on the table, the food is already set and on the plates, and Adam is looking at the both of them. Waiting for them both to join him at the table. She soon walks over to a seat while Lewis goes over to the free empty seat and sits down in it. She does the same and looks back at the corner to see that the woman is gone. She swore that she saw a woman wearing tattered clothes and her hair was white. The woman looked old, but still in her prime. Victoria looks away from the corner to see that Adam and Lewis were already talking amongst themselves and eating. She tunes into their conversation.
"I am telling you, Lewis. No one can make a good cooked beef as you do." Adam chimes happily.
"Anyone can make good beef, it really depends on how it's made." Lewis chews on some vegetables.
Victoria picks up her fork and looks down at her food. She sees little red beings coming out from behind her food as they were laughing at her. Victoria closes her eyes tightly and shakes her head until she reopens her eyes to see that the little men were no longer on her plate of food. She looks up to see that Adam and Lewis are staring at her. She felt sweat going down her cheek and herself turning pale.
"Are you alright, Victoria?" Adam asks concerned.
"I... I do not think that I am well." Victoria says honestly.
Adam turns his head to Lewis in knowing what to do.
Lewis stares at Victoria, "Why don't you try to eat some food, I can let you rest upstairs in the free room while me and Adam here go outside to do some man work." He punches Adam in the arm which caused him to flinch a bit and rub his arm with his free hand.
Adam stares at Victoria with worry, "Would you like to talk in private about what's going on after you eat before I go outside with Lewis?"
Victoria stares back down at her plate of food, "I should be fine, tis nothing to worry about right now."
Adam nods and continues to eat in silence.
Lewis does the same.
Victoria looks at her food for a bit longer until she digs into the meat. Tasting how juicy and tender it is. Making her mouth water for more. She takes another bite and continues on eating the food in front of her until she notices that she is hearing screaming. She looks down to see one of the little red men are inside of her mouth. She spits out the little red man and sees how there are more little red men surrounding her food this time than before. Standing up from the table, Victoria says quickly, "May you show me the room?"
Lewis watches Victoria closely, "Alright." He gets up from his seat and leads the way to the free room upstairs. He walks down a hallway with Victoria.
Victoria looks at the hallway and notice black hands emerging out from the behind the paintings. Clawing at the paintings as they rip apart. The paintings bleeding with blood as she looks around the hallway to see that it's beginning to stretch out. She stops walking as soon as Lewis stops walking.
Lewis turns to Victoria, "Here is your room." He grabs a hold onto the wooden handle and pushes the door forward. Letting Victoria to go inside of the nicely white bedded room.
Victoria walks into the room to see that there is a dark wooden dresser sitting by a wall and a chair in a corner. She feels her breath quickening as she turns to see Lewis mouthing something that she could not comprehend. Watching Lewis closing the door, Victoria was left alone in the room. She looks around as she wrap her arms around herself and walks over to the bed. Sitting on the cushion as she feels the mattress wanting to push back up fully, but it didn't.
Victoria lies down on the bed and closes her eyes. Hoping that everything that just happened was only because she had a bad nights rest.
Victoria reopens up her eyes to see that she was back in the other house. The sun is beaming down on her as she sits up to see that Alexander opens up the door with a smile on his face. He is holding something on a plate as Victoria looks at the plate to see some carrots on it. She stands up from the bed and walks over to Alexander to see that the plate was covered in the little red guys again. She steps back as she looks at Alexander.
Alexander asks concerned, "You alright?"
Victoria breathes heavily as she watches Alexander's head get blown off in front of her. His blood and pieces of brain were left on her as she runs out of the room screaming. She runs till she sees the old lady looking like she has returned from the dead.
"You are supposed to be dead!" She screams hoarsely.
Victoria turns around and runs away. Running into the kitchen and gets underneath the table. Curling her knees up to her chest. Praying for Adam to come and save her, but he never came. She heard footsteps, but instead she saw feet not even touching the floor and very heavy breathing. Victoria brings a hand up to her mouth to hide any noises that might escape. Tears pouring out of her eyes as she watches the feet stop before her. No longer moving.
In a quick movement the old lady's face goes through the table as she screams, "YOU WERE NEVER MEANT TO LIVE!" Her eyes as black as night.
Victoria jolts herself awake and sits up as she looks around to see that she is in Lewis's house again. Tears strolled down her cheeks as she brings her knees to her chest. Crying to herself as she hears a soft knock on the door. She looks at the door to see Adam open up the door and walking inside.
Adam notices Victoria's state and runs over to her. He wraps his arms around her and holds her close. Rubbing her back while asking, "What happened? Who hurt you?"
Victoria unwraps herself and wraps her arms around Adam, "P-Please do not leave me... I... I am scared."
Adam holds her close and rubs her head, "I am not leaving. I will not go anywhere." He puts his head onto her own as she cries. Making sure that she is alright. He soon turns his head to see Lewis walking into the room to see if everything was alright. Adam mouths no.
Lewis nods and walks away. Leaving Adam to help Victoria.
