Chapter 69: Sixty-Ninth

Once they returned to their room, they found Mia - in Stella's form - who had opted to laze about in bed rather than walk with them to tour the town. Kieran likewise sat in a chair in their chambers, reading something from the shelf, rather than go out and about.

Neither of them had been present when she woke up and left, however, so they must have gone somewhere earlier, even if they'd made it back first.

Unfortunately, a simple glance at Kieran and Mia, or the room itself, didn't immediately tell Emily what it was they'd been doing.

Not that she cared where Kieran was...but given Mia's insistence that she ate human souls as her preferred meal, Emily couldn't help being at least a little worried about what Mia did while unsupervised in another land.

When they returned and Kieran noticed their presence, he glanced up at them with a faintly annoyed look. "....Back from your date?" He inquired dryly.
