A pair of feet stumbled toward the school gate that was nearly closed.
"Waitttttttt!" she yelled, stretching her hand forward, trying to get in just before the gate shut.
"Hurry up and get in," the school security guard ordered.
Teresa walked into the school, hastily tying her tie, which she hadn't had time to put on properly because she had overslept that morning.
She walked toward the massive school building, her eyes wide with awe at how different it was from her old school.
"Wowww, this place is huge," she muttered, taking in the sight.
She stood in the middle of the courtyard, staring at the enormous school with disbelief that she was actually going to attend there.
"Aaaaaah, finally, my dream school!" Teresa shouted, spreading her arms wide in the middle of the courtyard.
A male student walked past Teresa, carrying a backpack slung over one shoulder, his right hand buried in his pants pocket.
Teresa quickly folded her arms and glanced at the boy. Her eyes widened as she saw how handsome he was.
'So good-looking,' she thought, not blinking as she watched him.
"H-Hey," Teresa called out, trying to get his attention, but the boy continued walking into the school building.
"Heyyyyy!" Teresa ran in front of him, spreading her arms to block his way. The boy stopped, looking at her blankly.
"Hi, I'm Teresa," she said, extending her hand toward him.
The boy stared at her hand expressionlessly, then walked past her without a word.
Teresa withdrew her hand. "I got rejected," she mumbled, staring at her hand. Then she turned and yelled at him.
"HEY!" Teresa shouted loudly.
The boy stopped in his tracks.
"My hand's clean now," Teresa said after wiping her hand. She grabbed his right hand with her left and shook it.
The boy immediately pulled his hand back, brushing past Teresa's shoulder as he walked away.
Teresa noticed something fall from his bag. She picked it up and realized it was a keychain. Just as she was about to call out to him and return it, he had already disappeared from her view.
"Wow, he disappeared fast," Teresa said, looking around. "I'll return it later," she muttered.
"But that guy is so arrogant," she added, suddenly realizing it. "But he's really handsome, though. Definitely my type," she said with a grin.
Teresa looked down the corridor in the building, unsure of which way to go since she didn't know her way around the school yet.
"Right," she said, stepping to the right, "or maybe left," she then turned to the left.
"Uh, wait, stop, stop," Teresa said, stopping a boy who was carrying a stack of books as he passed by.
"Where's the teacher's office?" Teresa asked him.
The boy looked her up and down, seemingly scanning her with his gaze.
Teresa crossed her arms over her chest. "You're a pervert, aren't you?" she said.
The boy looked at Teresa and then said, "Follow me," before walking off.
Teresa followed him, glancing at the classrooms as they passed. She was impressed by how different the classrooms were compared to her old school. The social disparity was palpable as she observed the facilities at this school.
She nodded while peeking into the classrooms. "Wow, cool," she said.
"Hey, quiet down," the boy called to Teresa.
Teresa snapped back to attention and followed him into what seemed to be the teacher's office.
"Are you a new student?" asked a man who looked like a teacher. He was tall, wearing a shirt and glasses with a Korean-style middle part hairstyle. Unfortunately, his face was too local to be mistaken for Korean.
"Your name is Teresa, right?" the man asked.
"Oh yes, sir, that's me," Teresa replied.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Mr. Dayu, your homeroom teacher."
"Oh, yes, Mr. Dayu."
Mr. Dayu then led Teresa to a desk to sign some school transfer papers.
"Oh, and Reno, you can put that here," Mr. Dayu said to the boy who had brought Teresa to the office.
"Wait, Reno," Mr. Dayu said as Reno was about to leave the room.
"Teresa, your grades are excellent. I hope you can maintain them," Mr. Dayu said, glancing at Teresa's transcript. She was indeed a smart girl, always ranking first in her previous school.
"Reno, take Teresa to her class, introduce her to everyone. I might be a bit late getting to the class later," Mr. Dayu instructed Reno, who was the class president of 11th grade, Science 4.
"Sure, sir," Reno replied.
"Oh, and in the meantime, start working on chapter 1 of the enrichment material while waiting for me," Mr. Dayu added.
"Alright, sir."
Reno motioned for Teresa to follow him out of the room and towards their classroom.
Reno suddenly stopped and turned towards Teresa, who was trailing behind him. He extended his right hand to Teresa.
"Reno," he introduced himself.
"I already knew that. Mr. Dayu mentioned your name earlier," Teresa said. "But it's fine, we should make this introduction official. I'm Teresa, but my full name is Alnara Daisy Namira."
Reno nodded, hearing her full name. "You like daisies?" he asked, walking towards the classroom. Now, they were walking side by side instead of one behind the other.
"Yeah, I really love them. They're so me," Teresa replied.
Reno smiled at her response. This girl was quite funny. "By the way, where did you transfer from?" Reno asked.
Teresa mentioned the name of her old school, and Reno looked puzzled.
"What's wrong?" Teresa asked.
"I've never heard of that school," he replied.
They arrived at the front of 12th grade, Science 4, which was clearly Teresa's new class.
"Wait here, I'll go in first," Reno said, asking Teresa to wait outside the classroom.
Teresa watched as Reno stood in front of the class, announcing to the students that there was a new transfer student who would be joining their class.
Teresa quickly adjusted her hair and uniform before entering, making sure she didn't look embarrassing.
Reno waved Teresa in, inviting her to enter the classroom.
"Go ahead, Teresa, introduce yourself," Reno said to her.
Teresa stepped inside and stood in front of the class. As she scanned the students, her eyes locked onto a boy sitting by the wall in the second row.
'It's that guy from before,' she thought, 'We're in the same class, it's fate,' Teresa smiled to herself.
"Teresa," Reno called her name, "Teresa," he called again.
"Oh, right," Teresa snapped out of her thoughts. She then introduced herself to the class.
"Hello everyone, my name is Teresa Daisy Ananta," Teresa said, introducing herself to the class. She noticed that some of the students seemed to welcome her warmly, though a few were indifferent, including the handsome boy.
"You can sit over there with Yova," Reno pointed to an empty seat in the middle of the class.
"Hi," Yova greeted Teresa as she approached.
They both sat down and exchanged friendly smiles.
"Don't hesitate to ask me anything, I'm really nice," Yova said to Teresa.
Teresa smiled, feeling like she might have already made a friend at this school.
Reno then explained to the class that they were assigned to work on chapter 1 of the enrichment material.
"Yova, can I borrow your book? I don't have one yet," Teresa asked.
"Sure," Yova pulled out an iPad and placed it on the desk, opening the enrichment material.
Teresa was a bit taken aback to see an iPad instead of a book.
"What's up?" Yova asked.
"This is the book?" Teresa asked, her face showing pure innocence.
Yova laughed at Teresa's expression and then explained that the school didn't distribute printed textbooks to students. Everything was done digitally on the iPad.
"So, we only use notebooks for manual assignments, but everything else is on the iPad," Yova explained. "Printed books are in the library, but they're not handed out to students."
Teresa could only scratch her leg, realizing the reality. She didn't even have an iPad, so how was she supposed to access digital books?
"Don't worry, you'll get one soon," Yova assured her.
"Get one?" Teresa asked.
"Yes, it's a school-provided facility," Yova replied.
"Oh, I see."

"Oh yeah, this belongs to him," Teresa suddenly remembered the keychain in her pocket. She stood up and headed to the handsome boy's desk.
Yova noticed Teresa stand up and leave her seat to approach Kenzo. "What is she doing?" she muttered, watching Teresa go up to Kenzo.
"Hey, you dropped this earlier," Teresa handed the keychain to Kenzo. She then leaned in to look at his name tag.
"Kenzo," she read aloud, "Nice name."
Kenzo suddenly pushed her forward, almost causing her to fall.
"What the heck, that scared me," she muttered.
All the students in the class turned to look at Teresa and Kenzo.
Yova pulled Teresa back to her seat. "What are you doing?" Yova asked.
"What's the problem? I just wanted to introduce myself to him," Teresa said.
"You don't know who he is," Yova began explaining to Teresa about Kenzo. She said that Kenzo was the smartest student in the school, but he was also known as the most aloof and cold. He was an idol because of his handsome face. "He's good-looking, but kind of scary," Yova added. "You'd better not try to get close to him. Many girls have already been rejected by him, and he doesn't hold back, turning them down in front of everyone. It's really harsh," Yova explained.
"Seriously? That's really interesting," Teresa replied, completely opposite to what Yova had expected. "I think I like him," Teresa boldly admitted to Yova.
"Hahhhhhh..."

...
"Kenzo!" Teresa called out to the guy walking straight ahead.
He kept walking without looking back at all. Teresa then ran towards him and stopped right in front of him.
"Yeah," she jumped in front of the guy, making him stop.
Kenzo looked annoyed seeing Teresa in front of him.
"Move," he said, pushing past her and walking away.
"Even his voice is handsome," Teresa stood there, stunned by hearing his voice for the first time. She then turned around, becoming even more interested in this handsome guy.
Teresa was about to step forward again to catch up with Kenzo, but she stopped when she heard someone calling her name. It was Yova and Reno.
"The teacher asked me to show you around the school," Reno said.
"And I'm coming along," added Yova.
They toured the school, with Reno explaining the different rooms to Teresa. When they reached the library, Teresa stopped, noticing someone who caught her attention. Kenzo was reading a book inside. She quietly slipped into the library, leaving Reno and Yova behind.
"Kenzo," Teresa tapped him on the shoulder.
Kenzo then slammed the book he was holding onto the table.
Brakkk!!!!
