Chapter 2: MY LIFE WITH MY PARENTS
My life was hard when I was a little girl I used to shift a lot because my parents and I we did not have a place to stay and we could not afford the rental houses and fees.One day my father got a job of a security guard at a university and he also found a small house with one room to rent without any electricity power and we had to light fire everyday.We had only one blanket and we did not have a bed we had to sleep on the floor with that one blanket. My father used to work all day and he used to come home late at night .
One day when my father was off from work he got a call saying that it was an emergency he needs to come at once and my father immediately got up and went to work and when he reached at work and he was summoned by the director of the university into the office .My father went inside the director's office with a worried face and the director said that ' take a seat Mr Joseph ,well I want to say that the application you had sent for the chief security position it was approved".
My father replied and said 'but sir I stay far away from here and the chief security need to stay close". The director replied and said 'this is another challenge but don't worry I will speak with the authorities of the university in Harare and ask them to give you the small empty cottage that is near the building ".
'Okay sir I will take move now" my father replied.My father came home with a worried face and my mother said 'I know that its painful but, don't worry we will accept the destiny of our life and my father said ''what are you talking about? .My mother said I know you lost your job and my father said 'who told you that instead of losing my job I got the promotion', and my mother danced with joy ,she said God has answered our prayers at last.
My father spoiled my mother and I at a chicken inn and he bought us the food we had never ate for example pizza,chicken inn and a burger.After that we went back to our home and we slept.
Early in the morning my father got a call from the director saying that 'congratulation! Mr Joseph the authorities of the university have agreed to let you stay here but there is one problem and my father replied in a worried voice and said 'what problem are you talking about? and the director said the authorities said that you can't come with your three year daughter because she child doesn't go to school she will make noise and the the students won't be able to focus to their studies and my father said ''no problem I understand', and he hang up the phone.
My father started to contact his relatives asking for a place where her daughter can stay but some of his relatives refused and others promised that they will think about it . I have never saw my parents so worried for me.After some some hours my father received a call and he was very happy and he came to me and said listen here my daughter tomorrow you have to go and stay with your aunt ,uncle and your cousins.
