Chapter 9: 9

In a certain dimension, there was forest, but not just any forest. It was a magical forest..

It was beautifully decorated by long, illuminating vines and large trees which gave off azure coloured particles. The ground was covered by long grass. Within the grass, fishes in all sorts of shapes and sizes swam in all directions. The air was filled with glowing butterflies and jellyfish which were radiating in all sorts of colours. On some floating piece of ground, a squirrel was quietly nibbling on a walnut.

Suddenly, the ground shook. The squirrel accidentally dropped it's walnut and looked down as it dropped onto the ground. It looked rather downcast. Then once again, the ground heavily shook, which caused the squirrel itself to fall off the floating rock. A weird noise exited it's mouth before it hit the ground and went silent.

Out of nowhere, a vortex began to surface. It wildly spun and a large quantity of energy gushed out of it. The animals nearby, immediately seized all their activities and hastily retreated. After a few seconds, a black fur ball got launched out of the vortex. The fur ball was obviously Kuro. It miraculously landed on it's paws and calmly began to lick his paws in order to clean them. Directly after Kuro got launched out of the vortex, two other creatures got spewed out of it and it simultaneously closed behind them.

They were naturally Hisato and Amera. Hisato was the first to stand up. He quickly looked around as he noticed he had lost Kuro. To his relief, he found Kuro a few metres away. He walked towards him and tilted him up. He looked at Amera who had already gotten up and was stunned by the surroundings. She had definitely not expected this place to look this majestic. While looking around, she suddenly realized that Zen wasn't there. She worriedly looked around, yet she didn't see him.

Her eyes laid on Hisato who was sluggishly looking around while petting Kuro. Feeling her gaze, Hisato looked at her before sighing and shaking his head which caused Amera to look rather disheartened. She was sure that Zen disappeared along with them. Even though she had seen Zen disappear along with them, she wasn't sure if it really happened, she did have a weird feeling that Zen was also here.

"So what now?" Hisato said in a slothful manner.

Amera clicked her tongue, "Originally, I wanted to go here with you and Zen. Then I would tortu- I mean scold Zen because he forgot that today was our 7th marriage anniversary, but now that he isn't here, I have no clue."

"Oh, okay."  An awkward silence filled the air. It didn't take long before Amera tried to break the silence.

"Soo, do you know anything we can do?" Hearing the question, Hisato thought for a second, before he yawned and stood up. He slowly began to walk towards the east. "We find a shelter." A somewhat serious expression formed on his face. He began stretching his arms before yawning deeply. "We arrived at the worst possible timing." He pointed at the sky which was about to turn dark before continuing walking. Amera appeared next to him and began to follow.

Although she kept her guard up since she had a feeling that something changed about her poor boy.

---

A dozen minutes had passed and they had yet to find any form of shelter. Fortunately, they hadn't encountered any monsters. Even though Amera was there, Hisato was still pretty wary. "You really don't want me to quickly check the vicinity? I could easily just check everything within a few seconds and be done with it."

He yawned before looking at Amera, "Okay, I want to take a nap so go ahead."

"Alright! I have been aching to see more of this place. But, I can't just leave you alone since you talked about monsters, and I can't just leave my cute little Hisato alone in a place filled with monsters." Hisato groaned as he knew what was about to happen. And just like he thought, Amera disappeared from the spot and before he knew it, she was dragging him along while traveling at a high speed.

Then Amera abruptly stopped. She stopped in front of what seemed like a cave. It looked perfect for shelter.

Placing Hisato on the ground, she began walking towards the entrance of the cave when suddenly, a weird creature dashed out and tried to headbutt her.

Amera immediately disappeared from the spot the moment she saw the creature approach her. She scanned the creature and a small wow exited her mouth.

The creature's body was similar to a deer with smooth dark blue skin; the back of all four legs were dark purple and covered in pointed fins while  the hooves glowed with a neon blue; its most prominent features were the brilliant golden eyes and instead of ordinary antlers, the creature had two pairs of multi-colored corals  protruding from its head, the below one was small, and curved to the front while the large one pointed above, at the sky.

A mystical aura enveloped the creature as it stared at Amera with it's golden eyes. It made a weird noise, and immediately after, over a dozen of these creatures galloped out of the cave.

Seeing the creatures, Hisato heavily groaned. He hadn't expected these things to appear here...

"You know these… moose like creatures?" She glanced over at Hisato before returning her gaze to the herd.

But before she was able to get a response. She noticed that Hisato had disappeared.

Without even being able to react, the moose like creatures began to get decapitated and within an instant the entire herd was dead. She looked at the now dead creatures, shock filled her eyes as she became wary of the situation. Hurriedly looking around, she didn't notice anyone. Suddenly, she saw a small black furred creature walking over to the corpses. This was obviously Kuro!

He sat down in front of the entrance of the cave and began rubbing his head against something. Looking at the thing which Kuro was rubbing his head against, she saw Hisato leaning against the walls of the cave, his normally bleak, white hands were now covered in blood and pieces of seemingly flesh.

Amera looked at Hisato in disbelief. She certainly didn't expect him to be so insanely strong. Although she didn't exactly know his ability, Zen said it was an unique ability and had unimaginable possibilities. And this wasn't what she was shocked about. She had expected the strength of his ability to a certain degree and thus was prepared to see it in action, the thing she didn't expect was Hisato brutally decapitating the creatures, and he seemed completely fine.

She couldn't help but wonder what horrifying things he went through...
