Chapter 44: Alex’s House Night
Characters: Musa, Alex, Ruth, Antoinette and Wisdom
Alex gets home. He honks the gate and Musa opens the gate.
Musa: Welcome boss....
Alex: Musa...
Musa: Boss....(He salutes)
Alex: Is everything okay?
Musa: Yes boss, everything is fine.
Alex: Alright, lock the gate
Musa turns to lock the gate and enter the security guard room
Alex: Anybody home!!!!! (He smiles)
Antoinette: Wisdom, daddy is back....
Wisdom runs to hug his dad.
Alex: How are you my boy????
Wisdom: I'm fine daddy....
Alex: How was school today???
Wisdom: School was very interesting today.
Alex: Wow!!! So what did you learn today?
Wisdom: We learnt a lot daddy.
Alex: So can you tell me some of the things you learnt at school??
Wisdom: We learnt......
Ruth comes in....
Ruth: Welcome honey..... When did you arrive????
Alex: Not long ago....
(She walks to hug her husband)
Ruth: I can see you very tired. How was work today??? She still holds her husband
Alex: Work was really hectic today. I had some loads of documents to work on. You know how difficult our work becomes sometimes.
Ruth: Yeah I do. You must be famished then.
Alex: I am honey you know I don't have appetite for all these spicy foods they sell outside.
Ruth: Oh sorry.....
Ruth: Antoinette, can you please help me prepare some food for my husband.
Antoinette: Sure. Why not..... Let me quickly get to the kitchen and get it done.....(She smiles and move to the kitchen)
Ruth: Thank you my dear.
Wisdom sits and watch television.
Antoinette gets to the kitchen and starts talking to herself alone. She thinks about what her friend Agyeiwaa said to her.
Antoinette: I think what Agyeiwaa said the other time is true... So she has finally turn me into her cook because I opted to work as a house help. I have to act very fast. She has no respect for me any longer. Is it because she has a rich man as her husband? If that is the case, then prepare adequately for me. I'll tear you and your family into pieces. The action begins now.....
She goes on and prepare the meal...
Food is served in 30 minutes later...
Ruth: Antoinette are you done.....(She smiles at her)
Antoinette: Yeah I'm done....(She pretends to smile)
Alex: Wow!!!! I can feel the aroma of the food...
Antoinette talks to herself in mind... Look at this idiot sitting in front of me talking about aroma.
Ruth: Yeah I told you Antoinette is a very good cook.
Alex: Mmmmmmmmmn I can sensor that from the aroma.
Antoinette continues to talk to herself. Listen to this dumb ass you think I am your cook. Your days are numbered. (She smiles at them)
Ruth: Thank you Antoinette.
Antoinette: Never mind my dear... (She smiles in pain) Mr Alex enjoy your meal. I will be in my room.
Alex: Really.....
Ruth: Oh noo please sit and let's have a chat.
Antoinette: (She shakes her head) I want you guys to have your privacy. (She smiles again)
Ruth: You are part of this family already so what privacy are you talking about.
Antoinette: Okay if you insist, I'll be with Wisdom in the living room. He needs my company. (She laughs)
Ruth: Eeeeih you and this your Wisdom. Aaaah well if you want to be with him you can join him. I'll join you guys shortly.
She walks to the living room.
Alex: She's always fond of with Wisdom why....?
Ruth: Honey you can say that again. Hmmmmn (She laments) you won't believe Wisdom won't eat unless Antoinette is with him.
Alex: Hahahaha (He laughs) you don't mean it.
Ruth: I'm serious honey. He's always happy to have her around him.
They both laugh.....
Alex: Yeah honey I meant to tell you this...
Ruth: What.....?
Alex: Wait.... (He takes a glass of water and have a sip)
Ruth: Take it easy so you don't get choked honey...not long ago Wisdom was choked.....
Alex: (He smiles) I won't be choked honey. Like I was saying, do you Benson my friend?
Ruth: Benson.... I don't really remember. Can you remember me?
Alex: Do you remember the last time we went on shopping..?
Ruth: Aha, aha, aha...yes what about him?
Alex: He called this afternoon.
Ruth: I hope he's fine???
Alex: Oh yeah he sends his regards....
Ruth: Alright...
Alex: He'll be visiting us tomorrow.
Ruth: Oh okay. So when are we expecting him?
Alex: Eeeerm somewhere midday
Ruth: Okay.... I've heard you my husband. (She smiles and holds his cheeks)
Alex: I want you to prepare a nice meal for our guest. I know what you are capable of doing.....
Ruth: Oh please stop teasing... Hahahaha (She laughs)
Alex: Alright honey I'm very tired. I want relax. I'll be in the bedroom.
Ruth: Okay my dear husband I'll join you soon. Let me see Wisdom and Antoinette.
