But, the scene soon changed.
The sky was now cloudy as though a heavy rain was about to fall. Tang Wan saw herself on the day her parents died. She saw herself standing on the asphalt road where the accident occurred.
She was putting on a flowery dress but because of the gloomy aura around her, it didn't make her sunny at all. Tears streamed down her pale face as she watched the ambulance lift her parents' corpses.
She tried to run to them but she was unable to move. It was as though her feet were stamped to the ground. She could only weep endlessly as the ambulance drove off in the distance.
She felt so sorrowful and her heart clenched uncontrollably that tears slipped down Tang Wan's face onto the hospital bed.
She felt a hand touch her face and wipe it lightly. She wanted to wake up but she was soon caught up in another dream.
Fu Tinghao who was actually sitting down beside her pursed his lips. He wiped her tear stricken face once more before looking at her again. A bad premonition appeared in his heart and he had a feeling he would be experiencing one of her episodes soon.
He had just finished his operation and returned to his office when he was informed by Li Jin that she had stopped by at his office. He didn't really suspect a thing after all, he was expecting her to come for therapy.
He even attended to a few reports before a sudden thought came to him. Li Jin had said her face was pale and it seemed there was something on her mind. He felt troubled so he had left his office to check on her.
Unexpectedly, he met her crying in her sleep.
He sighed, helplessly and looked at her petite figure. There was a crease on her brows which he reached out to straighten. She also seemed to feel warmth from his touch and relaxed a little.
Crash!
Crash!
The sound of things heavily crashing was what jolted Fu Tinghao from his sleep. He frowned and immediately sat up, actively defensive. He saw that he was still sitting in the couch beside Tang Wan's bed.
Without much to say, he figured that he slept off in the couch. He had been too busy and didn't get much rest these past few days so it was no surprise that he slept so soundly.
He retracted his gaze, remembering that he heard something crashing earlier. He stood up and saw that the ward was in a mess. The hospital bed was tipped to the side and the pillows and blankets were all on the floor. It needed no telling to know that something had happened there.
When he didn't see Tang Wan, he immediately frowned and walked to the restroom. He initially wanted to knock but he saw that the door was wide open. But, Tang Wan was not there.
He immediately felt a sense of unease and panic and left the ward immediately. The situation outside was not much better. There was no one in the hallway and even the nurses sitting by the main wards were not there.
However, he could see a huge crowd gathered at the lobby. He pursed his lips, preparing to admonish them for not doing their duties and walked over.
But what he saw made him forget his intentions.
A slender figure stood in the middle of the crowd. Fu Tinghao had been looking for her. Tang Wan held a middle aged woman by the neck with her right arm while other hand was holding a knife.
She waved the knife carelessly in front of her with the intention of scaring the crowd into backing off. She yelled, "Go away. If you come closer, I'll kill you."
Fu Tinghao was initially stunned. He already expected that her episodes would come one day but he didn't expect it to be like this. But when he saw how dangerously the knife was being held by her, he immediately reacted. He yelled, "Move away."
Although his voice wasn't that loud, it had a commanding effect. Every one instantly looked in his direction and when they saw that it was the boss, they instantly cleared the path for him.
One of them finally reacted and brought out his phone, "Boss, I'll call the security."
Fu Tinghao nodded. "Yeah. Call them."
When Tang Wan saw the way they reacted to his appearance, she was even more on guard. She tightened her hand on the knife and threatened fiercely, "Don't come closer!"
Fu Tinghao instantly halted his steps. He narrowed his eyes and called out gently, "Tang Wan."
But who knew his words would incense her even more. She immediately yelled at him. "No. I'm not Tang Wan. Go away."
"But, you're Tang Wan."
"No, I'm Wanwan," She shook her head adamantly. "I'm daddy's Wanwan."
Daddy's Wanwan?!
Fu Tinghao looked at the woman that was held captive. She had probably been scared silly that she couldn't even muster the courage to shout.
Fu Tinghao looked at Tang Wan while referring to the woman. "Why are you holding her?"
But Tang Wan lowered her head. It was then she seemed to notice that she was scaring the woman. She immediately lowered her voice but Fu Tinghao could still hear her. "Mom, don't be scared. Wanwan won't let the bad guys take you away."
It was then Fu Tinghao realized something. She seemed to be delusional and thought the woman was her mother.
But, he didn't have much to think because Tang Wan lifted her head and looked at him. It was then Fu Tinghao saw her clearly. Her eyes were squinted and the light in her gaze had dimmed. They were soulless. At that moment, she reeked of danger.
She looked at him and spat out one by word, "I'll kill you."
An ominous feeling rose in Fu Tinghao's heart. He frowned… he had always trusted his instincts. And sure enough, he saw her let go of the woman and leaped at him. The knife was directed at him.
