Chapter 1: Prologue
Princess Silvia Lautreamont was the fourth and youngest daughter of the Lautreamont royal family-the knight kingdom of Lautreamont was the heart of the dragon-shaped continent of Arc Strada which boasted a large and diverse dragon population…which was broken up into five main kingdoms-Aside from the knight kingdom of Lautreamont(the heart), the kingdom of chevron (the body) the Zepharos empire (the gate jaw), the Espada holy agency(the wings), the Labrock commercial union (the tail )-out of all these five great powers…the kingdom of Lautreamont held the record for the most dragon riders or dragonars more than any other country on the continent...a fact that made Silvia feel that as a daughter of the Lautreamont royal family and fourth princess of the kingdom-young girl felt that was her duty to become a dragonar...at least that is what Silvia her father, Paladin Ozwen Lautreamont to go through -in truth Silvia did not know why she was here...not truly anyway-well yes her older brother Julius,as well as her oldest sister,Cassandra had done...despite her to other sisters-Veronica and Mirabel have not doing so.
The young princess felt chill quickly rush through her at the mere thought of her eldest sister caused an icy chill to quickly race upward at the back of the young princess's neck with the little yellow hairs at the upper back of her neck stand staticky at attention.
Silvia lightly shook her head clear of any thoughts of doubt-her small and slightly skinny little arms quickly tightened around her favorite stuffed animal plush toy...a dragon doll she named Lancelot; her older sisters, Veronica and Cassandra had chastised her for bringing a stuffed animal with her, while undergoing the orphan's rite-the sacred bonding ritual between a dragon (par), and their dragonar (dragon rider)-a tradition going generations back to the early days of dragon training.
Silvia sheepishly made her way through the sharp-jagged stone and the spikey-almost blackthorns of overgrown dark green vines and low hanging branches snagging and tearing at her clothes and scraping her arms and legs -Silvia clumsily tripped over a half buried tree root that waited ahead in her path…
Silvia quickly tumbles down a rocky ledge-leaving the little princess with more than a few bruises.
Silvia carefully propped herself up with tears lightly gleaming in her icy blue eyes giving an almost sparkling glaze.
"Silvia!"The soft-motherly sounding voice says soothingly
The young princess quickly scattered back against a nearby tree-a beautiful woman appears in bright flash of white light…the young princess stared up at the youthful and otherworldly figure with a sense Of awed reverence-Silvia slowly stood up."…are you-"the little girl began to ask but the beautiful woman quickly interrupted herself,"yes"the woman says quickly with a weak smile."…I am Edeana…or the mother of dragons as your kind have so affectionately doubt me-"the woman laughed faintly as her tone remained cold and neutral tone-Silvia felt anxious she carefully looked the youthful woman."…you are really the mother of all dragons?"Silvia with innate curious of a girl,her age-the woman nodded,"…yes…though that I never called myself by that name…it was your kind that bestowed me with that particular epithet due to my role as distributor of dragons-"the mother of dragons said briefly before quickly pulling up a video game styled selection screen."what are-"Silvia began to ask but a stern glare that reminded the girl of her eldest sister Veronica and she immediately fell dead silent.
The mother of dragons quickly scrolled through the screen at a speed that was incredible to the young princess;the woman quickly dismissed the screen looks at the princess with the smile of a very shrewd businesswoman."…Ah now let us see what the possibilities hold for you shall we little princess!" The mother of all dragons says warmly as she begins to move her hands in an almost sewing movements as small thin golden strings of light quickly dancing between her finger tips.
Suddenly Silvia felt intense heat build up inside her as some kind of star-brand to appear on her chest …but strangely there was no immense-painful burning or aching feeling…no…Silvia Lautreamont had known this feeling once before…but that was long go.
Now as the young princess briefly closed her eyes quickly feeling a strong sense of serenity and bliss as she felt it…no not 'it'-him…her dragon…her-par!
Silvia soon opened-her cheeks flushed heavily pinkish red shade as she first Laid eyes on the creature that was to be her life long companion…he did not look like a dragon…no the creature before had the body of young boy about her age with a skinny body,dark brown hair and light brown eyes staring back at her with an awkward smile.
The mother of dragons smiles almost amused,"…something wrong princess?"the mother of dragons asked.
"N-no of course not!"Silvia responded sheepishly
The mother of dragons nodded,"…take very good care of him little princess…this particular dragon is very special destiny…as do you!"She says beginning to vanish in a ray of golden light.
"Wait! What does that mean?"Silvia shouted…but it was already too late-the mother of dragons had disappeared as quickly as she had appeared.
Silvia turned to the naked boy that staring at her with a look Of puzzled confusion-Silvia calmly stretched out a hand…pausing slightly at a brief moment of hesitation before lightly ruffling the boy's hair.
"…my par…my dragon!"the young princess says softly with warm smile.
