Chapter 1: Chapter 1
"Hey!" Marcella shouted.
"Marcella has been my best friend since elementary school, she and I are the complete opposite. Marcella is loud and friendly, as for me...I'm more reserved, if you could call it that. Marcella decided her name was to "Old timey" so she has everyone call her Marmalade, though I'm an exception. I'm the only one she let's call her Marcella still.
"Hey." I say in my usual calm and quiet tone. "So Adelaide....I know you won't agree butttt do you think you could help me with something?" Marcella asks. I freeze. The last time I agreed to helping Marcella with something we ended up adopting a cat, It's a long story. "What is it?" I reply. "Do you think you would be up to helping my brother with his homework?". Marcella's brother, Liam used to mess with me all the time. I dont think he even remembers me from the time we had History together in the 3rd grade. "Um." I gulp. Marcella is my best friend and I want to help but I don't think this is a great idea. "Please Adelaide I'm begging you! My Father said that until Liam gets his grades up I'll be stuck doing extra chores!" Marcella exclaimed.
"I-I uh" I stutter and I know I won't be able to say no. "Sure" I sigh. "Yes! I knew you would help! Thank you so much! Just go to the library after school I'll tell him to meet you there." And that's how this whole mess started.
