Chapter 365: Watch where you’re going

"After this, don't even think that you are not good enough, Myrna," Niko muttered, aiming his fire dagger at Occhio's head.

Everything was lined up perfectly. The only things that nagged Niko were the chant of the mana maelstrom and that he didn't understand what magic Occhio used.

Some spell formed around Occhio's body, but Niko still couldn't tell what it was. A shield? Didn't feel quite like any shield Niko had seen before.

Didn't feel all that protective at all. It wouldn't protect from Myrna's beams—not fully, at least.

Niko pulled the trigger, letting the bullet fly with a deafening bang. The fire dagger fell out of his hand, useless until Niko reloaded it.

Occhio dove under it, pushing himself right through the cage of light and the clouds of steam it created, his figure becoming distorted by the obstruction.

Niko's eyes widened.

'Did he decide to sacrifice his skin for the sake of his head?'
