"That conversation," Ginevra said back, looking at Cael with hooded eyes. The look of lust suited them so much, Cael wanted to just skip the prelude and go straight to ravishing. But her body was still tense, and her posture was still defensive.
Now that the danger was over, he wouldn't put it past her to not attack him when he was at his most vulnerable. At most, he expected the attack to not be lethal.
And knowing that Ginevra wouldn't step back out of principle, Cael backed off, putting some distance between them. Just enough to talk somewhat calmly.
"Yes," he said, flailing his hand in a gesture of frustration. "Gin, just look around you. Is this where you wanted to be when you escaped? WHERE were you going?"
Ginevra jerked. Her eyes left Cael's. He waited patiently while she searched for the answer.
"I don't know, Cael."
