But before Cael removed his Frost Wall, he picked up the Claw's dead body and brought it to the entrance.

"I don't want to kill them if they stay away from us," he explained. "They might have something good under the ugly interior."

Ginevra scoffed at that, but didn't protest. "At least it will save us some time if it works."

So, the first thing the crowd of angry fettas saw when charged inside the room was the dead body of their leader. There could be no doubts about his state, too—not with the wide hole left by the Frost Arrow in his neck.

"If you leave now, I will spare you," Cael declared loudly. "Otherwise, you will die!"

Fettas' answers were a chorus of howls and yowls. The biggest of the bunch that were visible through the narrow door, a bovine-like creature, mooed and charged first.
