The last person to sit at the table was dark-skinned, but his smile was wide and his teeth were so white they gleamed.
"Greetings! I hope Niko didn't give you too much grief? He can be hard on people sometimes," Tarek said. "I'm Tarek, and you must have come on our notice, right?"
Cael raised his eyebrows in surprise. "What notice?"
"I told you it won't work," Niko muttered into his cup.
Myrna nodded. "That's right! We've been stuck here for two weeks already, and Carlo's the third person who came, isn't it? I told that we should do something more. Maybe as the lords of the city for an advance payment?"
"Oh. Well, but you DID come!" Tarek smiled again. "For the bounty, right?"
"Right. And you need two hundred gold to hire a ship? Isn't that too expensive?"
"It is," Tarek threw a dark look at Niko. "We only need fifty more gold pieces. We have the rest between us, anyway."
"Which are OUR money, and we need them. I need them."
