Three days later, Tyler sent Yun Xuan a text early in the morning, informing her of the time of his flight and arrival time. He wanted her to pick him up at the airport.
Yun Xuan had not slept all night due to excitement and was awake. She replied almost instantly
[If Ruolin is there too, I'm not coming.]
Tyler laughed at her jealous demeanor and replied [She's still busy. Don't worry about her.]
Yun Xuan seemed to dislike Ruolin more with each passing day.
When Tyler left, Grandma Wang had invited her over for lunch quite a few times. However, Ruolin would also be present and her temperament was just the same as before- she was very kind and friendly to her in the presence of her grandmother and exploded in fury as soon as they were alone.
That weird woman had even confronted her and offered a blank check in exchange of her breaking up with Tyler.
Tsk, that woman sure was something. She was the daughter of a very prominent man. As if she would need money.
"Going to see your gigolo again?" Her eldest brother mocked when he saw her leaving her room all dolled up.
"My fiancé is not a gigolo!" she said angrily. It was okay if this moron wanted to insult her. Why was he dragging Tyler into this? He was lucky that she loved her mother and didn't want to do anything that would hurt her feelings. Otherwise, she would have finished him off years ago.
"Then what is he, an underground spy?" Yun Jifeng echoed.
"Tyler is not an underground spy." Had Old Two woken up from the wrong side of the bed? She should consider convincing her parents to let her find her own apartment.
....
"You're finally back." Yun Xuan smiled like a fangirl meeting her idol for the first time when she saw Tyler.
He speechlessly pulled her into his arms for a warm hug. Sometimes, there was no need for words between a couple. He had missed her a lot. Getting a hug from the soft body of his girl drove all his fatigue away.
"You look even thinner than you looked on phone. Was work too difficult? Do you even ever eat?" she expressed her concern with a frown on her face.
He smiled as they got into the car and he insisted on driving."You're worried about me?"
"Uh huh." her heart ached. Would she have to follow him around and make sure he had his meals and rested on time?
"If your heart aches so much, why don't you kiss me?"
Her ears slowly turned red. She was so embarassed to kiss in public and had only hugged him. Now that he asked for it...
She shook her head and pushed those ridiculous thoughts out of her mind.
She would kiss him as much as he wanted, but when they were home. Kissing in the car was no different from out in public.
In the end, they did get home before they kissed; but having stayed away from each other for all that while, Tyler did not hesitate to have her.
"So, about our marriage..."Tyler started with his breath still ragged.
Yun Xuan slapped her forehead. She had just been laughing at Wan Jia a few days for being nagged about marriage by her husband and in-laws. It was already her turn? Karma came at her too quickly, eh?
"You don't wish to get married?" he asked when he noticed how strange he looked at the mention of marriage.
"It's not that, please don't misunderstand. I just remembered something and found it funny."
He found her statement weird but ignored it. "I already locked down that man I was looking for. His name is Jing Ye. He was indeed ordered to deliberately give a fake divorce certificate."
"Ordered by who?"
"That, I do not know yet. I'm thinking about looking for him tomorrow and have him clarify things. It's okay if he doesn't tell us the mastermind, I only need him to give us the real thing.
If he processed a fake one, he could also process a real one in a hush manner and the matter would be over.
However, if he refused to comply and wanted to cause a ruckus, Tyler would approach him legally.
"You'll let the mastermind off just like that?" she asked. Whoever it was had made them delay their marriage and even caused them to misunderstand each other. How could they let him off?
"He would have to tell me if I didn't know already."
So he knew already. Was it her father? He seemed to be very obsessed wuth the idea of her marrying Lu Aotian. "Is it my dad?"
"Don't worry about it. It doesn't matter who he is, he will never hurt you." he said as he ran his fingers through her hair.
Any dumb person would know. The meaning behind his answer was obvious. It was definitely her father. No wonder that man would keep running like that.
"Let's go find him tomorrow then." she said.
"You want to come along?"
"Of course. You were away for so long and I missed you. I want to cling onto you and follow you wherever you go." she said coyly.
This is the promised extra chapter.
I hope my lovely readers won't mind if I don't spend much time on side stories, I don't really like dwelling on them much.
Hugs and kisses
