We finally make it into the park!
“All right, it’s getting late. Let’s get on a rollercoaster to get the blood pumping,” Ryder says excitedly.
So many people are around us—adults and children of all ages and sizes.
I look at Ryder as he leads me to the rides: such a fantastic day and a great way to end it. Maybe life with Ryder will be different. He’ll be different.
“Earth to Sam! Hello?!”
I didn’t notice we stopped walking.
I shake my head and look at him. “Sorry, it’s so noisy,” I lie.
“Rollercoaster?” Ryder asks. It’s so cute the way he asks. He looks like a kid at a candy store.
“Uh. I guess...” I say with a shaky voice. “Wait, shouldn’t I be in disguise?” I look around nervously as an older woman does a double take when she looks at me.
Ryder puts his arm around me. “Rollercoasters and wigs do not pair well. Besides, no one cares about the next person. Look at everyone. They are minding their own. Come on, let’s have fun!”
