Mary's tears cascaded down her face. "Don't, Ellis, I beg you..."
"It's no use. This time, I won't go soft on you!"
Ellis's stance was unyielding.
He held Mary's arm tightly with one hand while the other gently caressed her hair. "Once this child is gone, these rumors will subside in time. Later, it'll be just the two of us, side by side..."
"Ellis! Don't!!" Mary struggled to break free from his grip, almost shrieking, "I'm begging you! Don't do this!"
But Ellis didn't give her another chance to speak and dragged her toward the guest bedroom.
In the living room, James, Charles, and even Victoria were all stunned.
The three of them watched the direction the two had left, all showing expressions of disbelief.
Victoria glanced at James and coughed before saying, "James, are you saying that the child isn't really Ellis's?"
James's face showed a troubled expression as if he had something to say but didn't dare to speak it.
