Chapter 55: Live And Let Live 2

(Cronos POV)

Looking at the extravagant palace of gold, I chuckled, seeing the rather blinding sight. Hyperion was always a showboat, even as a young titan. I could remember when he would show every new thing he found to our mother when we were younger.

He represented the endless energy of light and its wrath as he could be the warmest man you could know and the next second be burning you to a crisp.

His wife/sister, which even now is a bit off-putting to me, but trying to apply modern values to literal gods would be like trying to convince a normal pig to fly.

Honestly, the longer I live, the more things fade to the back of my mind. Maybe it's a side effect of having a divine mind, as it's trying to protect me in this attempt to shift my own perspective.

That, or I'm just trying to avoid what happened.

I grasped a small pendant in my hand. I opened it and saw a small photo of my wife and my two daughters. I created it using my divine energy, and while it was small, the amount of energy needed to create it was larger than I was used to. I mostly blame that on the fact that I am not a Titan of creation but of time and the Harvest.

There was no warning, and it was just like falling asleep. I could still remember holding my wife's hand as we fell asleep together. In the next moment, I saw golden blood on my hands and my siblings celebrating the death of our Father Ouranos. I can still see it to this day.

Placing the pendant away, I saw my sister Theia greeting our siblings and their guests, and as she saw me, A smile formed on her face as she walked over to me. I wanted to hug her, but seeing her large stomach, I refrained from doing so.

"Greetings, sister Theia; I see you are in good spirits." My sister, practically glowing in happiness, simply bowed.

"I am happy you could make it, Lord Brother. I thought you would still be sitting on your throne, but my visions have been a bit wonky regarding you." Yes, for a reason: I've been practicing my domain over time to make it so I'm harder to predict through prophecy and visions, which is what my sister's domains lie in.

"Well, sister, I may have missed it if your husband had not sent Rhea to inform me that you have been blessed with children. Have you seen them ?" I asked as she surprisingly shook her head.

"No, as a goddess of prophecy, I refused visions relating to our children as I wanted it to be a surprise. So my spoiler-loving brother, does not ruin it, or I am sending Hyperion to always show you his gold collection."

Well, I can definitely tell she has the mood swings down, and I do feel sufficiently threatened as I remember the last time my brother showed me all of his gold, and it took three days to get through a seventh of it.

Nodding my head, her smile returned as if it had never left, and she walked with me inside. As we did so, I saw all of my siblings gathered around a large banquet table. Seeing us, Hyperion who, was sitting at the head of the table, shouted from across the room, "Lord Cronos! It's an honor to have you here on this momentous night! Come! Sit!"

He then sat down on a chair next to his wife. As I sat on the head chair and looked around, I saw all of my siblings looking at me with various emotions, but they were mostly surprised and happy. Unlike before, I actually ruled them but also made sure to never be oppressive, and being kind works wonders.

Oceanus and his wife/sister Tethys sent me a drink with Oceanus using a small wave, and Tethys made sure none of the water got in the cup. To put it bluntly, Oceanus has great power, but he lacks control, while his wife, being the Titaness of freshwater, is more refined but less powerful.

Grabbing the chalice, I sent them both a nod, and Oceanus, being a bit of a crusty fuck nodded slightly as Tethys slapped her husband's shoulder while sighing in exasperation.

"Thank you for the drink. Now, this is not a meeting, so you all need not wait for my order to enjoy, so eat your fill! To Hyperion and Theia, may your new lights bring happiness to you both!" Raising my chalice, my siblings do the same, and the party begins as Phoebe starts playing some music on her basic Harp.

With her domain being related to intellect, her ability to learn is ridiculous. Still, it mostly just concerns normal pursuits and isn't just something that grants her the ability to learn anything.

If I were to simplify it, it's that if you wanted someone on a game show, she would be your girl. I admit that her musical prowess is worthy of praise for being a know-it-all.

Drinking my ambrosia, Rhea, who had sat next to me, had remained smiling, but I saw the sadness in her eyes as while she does hold an infatuation for me, I could not and will not reciprocate, at least for a time. I just couldn't do that to her.

"If you have something to say, sister Rhea, speak freely." Smiling at her, she fiddles with her empty chalice as if trying to find the words to say.

"Could we talk alone, brother?" I nodded and returned my focus to Hyperion as he showed off the gifts he would give his children, with one being a flaming chariot, another a chariot made of pure moonlight, and the last one being robes that shined with the light of the dawn. Fate was riding on this, so I was influencing my brother's gifts, which I did not mind as they were amazing.

Looking at me, Hyperion says," Lord Cronos, I bet against our Brother Iapetus that you could give a greater gift than him, so may I ask what you have?"

Iapetus gave me a cheeky grin as he was the more competitive type, so I stood up and walked to an empty part of the dining hall and lifted my hand. And soon, a vial of pure light formed in my hand. I took a Phial of Galadriel from an alternate timeline and gave it to Hyperion; his eyes never looked away from it.

I lifted my other hand, and from a small portal, a book filled with an ancient power fell into my hands. It was a book about the magic of the stars and moon from Elden Ring. Holding it to him, he grabbed it and felt the power sealed within. Opening the last portal, I reached my hand in and drew a small sword, but one filled with the power of the dawn.

Holding Dawnbreaker in my hands, the room was filled with a foreign power, and as I sealed it away, Iapetus took a large barrel of wine and chugged it as he wept tears of blood over losing another bet with me.

Chuckling to myself, I looked to Hyperion, who eyed the sword with greed, but I tapped him on the face and brought him back to reality.

"I present to you my three gifts, brother. The first is a light that shall never go out, even when all others have. The second gift is a grimoire of magic relating to harnessing the powers of the moon and the stars. The last one, but certainly not the least, is the sword Dawnbreaker, which represents the epitome of purity and light. I hope you are satisfied?" Hyperion started to tear up at the thoughtfulness of my gifts as Theia looked on with a radiant smile.

(If you are wondering how he did this, he can use the essence of the primordial god to reach into other universes, but due to his power level, he can't make permanent bridges to them yet or grab artifacts that are too well-guarded.)

Looking over the table, I sat back down as Hyperion locked the gifts in his vault, and the party continued uninterrupted until I felt a presence I had not felt for over a thousand years.

Empty darkness showered the room, and from it came a voluptuous woman along with a large man whose only distinguishing feature was his glowing white eyes.

The primordial Nyx had arrived, and as she saw me, a smile formed on her face as I frowned in annoyance.

"Hello there, children. Will you not greet your aunt and uncle?" Nyx said as her power flooded the room, nearly drawing it into endless darkness. I then waved my hand, and it receded, which only served to make Nyx draw her attention to me, and her stride became ravenous as she approached me with unknown intent.

I sighed to myself mentally in exasperation as I always hated going to parties, especially when dealing with this woman.
