A few days later, I stood before the gates of a grand castle. The structure was an intricate three-dimensional magic circle designed to prevent its degradation.
I had made sure to delay Anos by half an hour, giving me time to disrupt his meeting with Misha.
As I moved towards the entrance, I heard a loud cheer. "Hooray, Misha! You've got this, Misha!" I glanced over my shoulder to see a rugged man with a beard yelling his heart out.
His gaze was fixed on a girl with a blank expression, pale skin, white hair, and big blue eyes.
"Ah..." Our eyes met.
"You have quite a lively family," I said in greeting, activating my unique skill, Chosen One.
Her reply was short and quiet, her cheeks tinged with a slight blush. "Yeah..."
"I'm Karna Tempest."
"Misha," she replied softly. "Misha Necron."
"My best regards, Misha."
"...Nn..." A brief, almost hesitant response.
As we entered the gates together, I tried to engage her in conversation ,attempting to break the ice.
"What's your favorite part of the castle?" I continued, hoping to draw her out a bit more.
"The garden," she said after a moment's thought.
"The garden? That sounds lovely. Maybe you could show it to me sometime?" I suggested with a friendly smile.
She looked at me with those big blue eyes, a faint hint of curiosity in her expression. "Maybe..."
We walked in silence for a few moments before I tried again. "Do you practice magic often?"
"Every day," Misha replied quietly.
"That's impressive. Maybe you can teach me some new spells". I asked honestly .
"Maybe I can help." She replied plainly.
As we continued walking, I couldn't help but notice how quiet and reserved she was. Despite her lack of emotion, there was something endearing about her presence.
< second female lead of maou gakuin. I said in mind >
We passed into the arena where the examination was taking place.
As we reached the arena, it was split into various sections.
An owl perched on one of the bronze statues of knights that were lined up nearby spoke. "Please line up by the letter that was printed on your invitation card."
I glanced at my card and saw a 'C' printed on it. "Misha, what's yours?"
"…E…" she said, showing me her invitation.
"Good luck, Misha. I hope we both become students of this academy."
"Good luck," she replied quietly.
Before leaving, I decided to tease her a bit. "Hey, Misha, if we both get in, how about you show me around the library? Maybe we can find a cozy corner to study together."
"Hm," she said, her voice steady despite the small blush.
I lined up in line 'C' and waited my turn. A voice called out from an owl , "Welcome, please come in. I'll explain the contents of this practical exam."
"In this practical test, students duel each other in the arena. After defeating five opponents, your magic power is measured. We examine you, and if you pass, you are admitted into Deruzogedo. If you lose, you will be unable to gain admission."
"All weapons, armor, and spells are allowed. Any questions?"
"Not really," I replied.
"Well then, I wish you the blessing of the founder."
I opened the door at the back of the waiting room and proceeded down a dim and long passageway, my heart pounding with anticipation for the challenges ahead.
As I stepped into the arena, the crowd's chatter filled the air. My opponent, a blonde-haired boy named Zelda, stood across from me with a smug expression. He glanced at me disdainfully, his lips curling into a sneer.
"You mongrel. Bow down before me.," Zelda mocked, his voice dripping with contempt.
I remained calm, not rising to his taunts. "Let's get this over with," I said, my tone steady.
The referee signaled the start of the duel, and Zelda immediately lunged forward, casting a fire spell in my direction. I sidestepped effortlessly, feeling the heat pass by me.
"Is that all you've got?" I taunted back, raising my hand.
Zelda's face twisted with anger. "I'll show you!" He unleashed a barrage of spells, each one more powerful than the last. Flames, lightning, and ice hurtled towards me, but I deflected them with ease.
"Your spells lack finesse," I said, shaking my head.
With a single wave of my hand, I produced a powerful gust of wind. The force of it was enough to knock Zelda off his feet and send him crashing into the arena wall. He slumped to the ground, unconscious.
The arena fell silent for a moment before erupting in disbelief and astonishment. I could hear whispers and exclamations from the crowd, their eyes wide with shock.
"Did you see that? He defeated a pureblood with just one hand!"
"Who is this guy?"
Ignoring the commotion, I turned to leave the arena, my victory secure.
I watched Anos battle Zepes on the screen, I keenly observed and learned Ingal just from the intensity of their clash.
"Anos remarkable strength, he is even stronger than awakened Demon Lord of Tensura.
"Later, the unexpected arrival of Zepes' brother, Leorg, led to another battle with Anos. It was during this confrontation that I had the opportunity to witness and learn Origin Magic.
"The Jirasd spell, though relatively weak in its effect, intrigued me with its intricate formation and structure.
"Thus, I gained a deeper understanding of Origin Magic—an arcane art that harnesses power from higher being through the intricate power of karmic laws.
< i don't think that even anos understand real power of karmic laws. Dao sages beings mostly use karmic power to kill their opponents >
"Despite facing formidable opponents, Anos effortlessly defeated them all with ease .
"Following the owl's precise instructions, I navigated through the academy halls to reach the Great Mirror Chamber—a room adorned with several magnificent mirrors.
"Inside, I found a gathering of numerous demons, easily numbering around a hundred or more, all awaiting the next stage of our trials."
"Amongst them was a familiar face. 'Misha,' I called out softly. Her long, platinum-blonde hair swished as she turned to face me."
"You said you weren't any good at fighting, but you made it through the practical,' I remarked.
'I got lucky,' Misha replied modestly, though it clearly took more than luck to defeat five opponents.
"'What happens now?' I asked, already knowing the answer.
"'Passing the practical test secures your admission. All that's left are the magic power and aptitude assessments,' she explained.
"The magic power assessment will now commence. Please line up before the power crystal," announced an official.
Misha began walking, and I followed her lead. The other examinees appeared familiar with the routine, already forming several lines on their own.
There were multiple power crystals available for taking measurements simultaneously. I observed as each examinee approached a crystal and had their magic power detected by touching it, with the results displayed numerically on a mirrored surface.
The owl overseeing the assessment read aloud each measured number. "126, 218, 98, 145..." These measurements indicated the strength of their magic, a process that once relied solely on intuition.
The assessments were swiftly completed, with the line diminishing rapidly until it was Misha's turn.
"Do your best," I encouraged her.
She responded with a short hum, her lips curving slightly.
After a brief moment, the result appeared on the mirror. "100,246."
"Well done, Misha-chan!" I congratulated her loudly.
Misha blushed with embarrassment, looking down on floor.
"It's my turn," I announced as I placed my hand on the measurement crystal.
Suddenly, an infinity symbol appeared and lightning crackled across the crystal, causing it to shatter.
"Error! Error!" exclaimed the owl.
"Does this world not understand what infinity represents?" I muttered in frustration.
"Measurement complete. Please proceed to the aptitude test," the owl announced mechanically.
"Tsk, useless owl," I muttered under my breath.
"What's wrong?" I asked Misha.
"...First time I've seen this happen," she replied quietly.
"What?" I inquired.
"Where magic power is so strong that it breaks the crystal," Misha explained, her voice barely audible.
"Oh, I see," I responded, noticing her discomfort.
"Not possible," Misha added, her expression unchanged but clearly shocked.
"Why?" I pressed gently.
"The magic crystal shouldn't break," Misha stated, her gaze fixed on the shattered pieces.
As she said this, Anos also broke his magic crystal. We glanced at him briefly before returning to our conversation.
"Seems like you and that guy are out of the ordinary," she remarked, trying to hide her embarrassment.
"Your magic power was also strong " I complimented her gently.
"Thanks," she replied softly, her lips curved a little.
The slight expression she showed was quite endearing.
I then glanced towards Anos, and our eyes met for a brief moment. I smiled at him. He attempted to activate his demonic eyes to peer into my abyss, but I blocked his analysis.
Anos felt intrigued as he observed Karna. It had been a while since he encountered someone who piqued his interest as much as Hero Kanon. Could this be another promising individual?
We then parted ways for the aptitude test.
"I step inside the magic circle to begin the test." A number of magic circles had been drawn across the floor, some occupied by students already taking the test.
"Bye... See you later," I said to Misha.
Misha walked towards an unoccupied magic circle, so I found one of my own and stood inside it. Then, a voice echoed in my head.
Roughly thirty minutes later, the aptitude test ended, and I left the Great Mirror Chamber.
I found Misha standing outside, her gaze distant as she stared into space.
"Sorry, I didn't realize the aptitude test was the last thing for the day," I said softly, trying not to startle her.
"Yeah," she replied quietly, her voice barely audible.
"To celebrate our admission, would you like to hang out?" I asked gently, careful not to overwhelm her.
Misha tilted her head slightly, her long platinum-blonde hair catching the sunlight. "Celebrate... with me?"
"Yes," I replied warmly, trying to encourage her.
"Are you sure?"
"I'm the one inviting you," I reassured her, giving her time to consider.
Misha hung her head in silent thought, and I waited patiently for her response.
"It's fine if you're busy," I added, sensing her hesitation.
"I'll go," she finally agreed, a faint blush spreading across her cheeks.
First, we headed towards her home so she could ask permission from her guardians. After a few minutes, Misha returned to our little group, her expression still calm but her eyes glistening with a hint of excitement.
"I got permission from my guardians, so let's go. I can also use flight magic if we're running late," she mentioned quietly.
"No, that's not a problem. The night is young," I replied, matching her subdued tone.
"Hm," she murmured softly.
We wandered around town, visited local landmarks, and indulged in some sweets from a quaint bakery. Misha seemed to enjoy the sights, her usual calm demeanor occasionally brightening with quiet observations and thoughtful remarks.
Later, I invited her to my house, using space-time manipulation to transport us there. Misha was visibly surprised by the magic.
"What spell did you use?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.
"That's teleportation magic," I explained, smiling at her reaction.
"Lost magic," she mumbled thoughtfully. "Are you a genius?"
"I'm actually a reincarnated person," I admitted gently, wanting to share more about my origins.
"From the mythical age?" she asked softly, her eyes widening with interest.
"No, I'm from a different world," I clarified, knowing it might be confusing for her.
"A different world?" Misha tilted her head, clearly trying to understand.
"Well, how should I explain this? This world exists within the Silver Sea."
"What's the Silver Sea?" she asked quietly, absorbing the information.
"It's a boundless realm that acts as a gateway between different worlds and dimensions. It has multiple layers, each with increasing concentrations of magical power. The deeper the layer, the more powerful and dangerous the entities residing there."
"Wow," Misha whispered in awe, processing the magnitude of what I was sharing. "And how many layers are there?"
"Ninety-nine layers, beyond which lies an unexplored abyss and our world exist in zeroth layer ," I replied gently, impressed by her curiosity.
"So, our world is the weakest?" she asked, a thoughtful frown on her face.
"Actually, no. Many warriors from this world can fight and easily defeat prodigies from the deepest layers." I clarified.
"That's reassuring," Misha nodded quietly, appreciating the perspective but she still has some doubts.
"Don't worry, fewer than five people in the Silver Sea can defeat demon king of tyranny ," I added.
"Hm," she nodded thoughtfully, absorbing the new information.
"Okay, let's prepare a delicious dish for you," I suggested gently, changing the subject. "Do you have any preferences?"
No. She replied.
While I was preparing dinner. I asked about her.
Misha then began to share more about her life, including her upbringing as a member of the Necron family and her relationship with her siblings.
"Are you close with her?" I asked softly, curious about her family dynamics.
Misha fell briefly silent, contemplating her answer. "I don't know..."
"You don't know?" I echoed softly, sensing her uncertainty.
"Are you worried about me?" she asked unexpectedly, her gaze meeting mine.
"Yes," I admitted honestly, wanting to be transparent with her.
"So kind," Misha murmured, a small smile tugging at her lips.
I returned her smile warmly, and our casual conversation continued until dinner was ready.
I prepared Makhan Paneer and Naan for her, some salad and vegetables shop while she set the table with surprising efficiency.
I placed the food on the table and served her. "Eat up, Misha, before it gets cold," I encouraged her, noticing her genuine interest in the meal.
"Okay," she replied softly, taking her first bite. Her eyes sparkled with delight as she savored the flavors.
"How's the food? Do you like it?" I asked gently, hoping she enjoyed my cooking.
"Yes," she replied sincerely, her eyes sparkling with each bite.
Dinner passed quietly in pleasant conversation and shared enjoyment of the meal.
We continued chatting late into the night until it was time for Misha to head home. I accompanied her outside to send her off, feeling a sense of contentment in her presence.
"Misha, give me your hand," I said gently, wanting to offer her spatial transportation back home.
She offered her hand without hesitation, trusting me implicitly. "I'll send you home with spatial transportation," I assured her softly.
"Let's hang out again," I suggested as we prepared to part ways for the night.
Misha nodded quietly. "It was fun."
"That's good. Now we're best friends," I declared playfully, wanting to lighten the farewell.
Misha pointed to herself, "I'm your friend?"
"Was I wrong?" enjoying her reaction.
Misha shook her head, her smile widening sweetly. "I'm happy."
"I see," I replied softly, touched by her sincerity.
"Yeah..."
"See you at school, Misha."
"Goodbye," she said softly, her eyes lingering on mine for a moment longer before she turned and walked towards her home.
