Chapter 164: Chapter 162: Cybil

"Those creatures are hard to deal with using just a regular handgun. Aim for the head, or you're just wasting bullets~!" Jon retracted his high-tech gun, then addressed the policewoman.

"I am Jon by the way, and you are welcome," he introduced himself.

Having seen the movie, he knew who this policewoman was and was aware of her personality, so he felt no need to be on guard around her.

"Cybil," the policewoman exhaled, introducing herself. She then gently touched the scar on her forehead, feeling a burning pain from the creature's blood corrosion.

"Who are you? Why are you here? And what's with your weapon?" she asked in question after question in doubts.

As a cop, having a gun was one thing, and it was common for people in this country to bear arms, but she clearly saw what looked like a weird laser shooting gun in Jon's hands. It seemed like something out of a sci-fi movie.

"Don't you think you should first ask what's going on with these creatures?" Jon deflected the question.

Sure enough, the policewoman responded, "Do you know what's happening here?"

"It's a long story," Jon replied, effectively saying nothing.

He continued, "This is not a place for ordinary people, and certainly not a situation the police can handle. I suggest you leave this town immediately."

"Are you joking? The roads are blocked; there's no way out!" Cybil said.

She was right. The entrance to Silent Hill, controlled by dark forces as described by Alessa's mother, wasn't just ramblings. The town was indeed impossible to exit now. Alessa had turned the entrance into a cliff to ensure that Rose and Sharon stayed.

But such obstacles were trivial for Jon. He didn't leave because he chose not to, but helping others to leave was easy for him, especially with the dark magic from the Darkhold.

"I can find a way to get you out, just make sure you don't come back," Jon offered.

Cybil shook her head without hesitation: "I'm pursuing a suspect, and a girl is in danger; I can't just stand by and do nothing!"

The suspect she mentioned was Rose, and the girl in danger was Sharon. For some reason, Cybil found Rose suspicious, which led her to follow them to Silent Hill.

Jon, familiar with her temperament, wasn't surprised by her response.

"I had her handcuffed just now, but then that thing appeared, and she took the chance to escape!" Cybil continued.

Jon shook his head to explain: "That person is not a suspect. For certain reasons, she came here indeed to save her daughter, but she doesn't realize that this act is dragging both her and her daughter into an abyss. She's in danger too, and we need to rescue them."

Cybil was momentarily stunned. She had already begun to suspect that she might have misjudged Rose, as ordinary people would not venture into a place full of creatures, and Rose seemed to be here for the first time.

"Alright, I'll trust you for now. Where should we start looking for her?" she asked.

"I don't know. Logically, she would head to the school first, but now I'm not sure where she might go," Jon answered. In his memory, the school was the first place Rose encountered upon arriving in Silent Hill, guided there by the drawing she found in her car as a clue.

However, Jon had inadvertently taken the drawing with him, realizing now that he might have inadvertently removed Rose's lead.

Just then, Cybil seemed to notice something and suddenly called out behind Jon.

"Hey, wait a moment!"

Upon hearing Cybil's shout, Jon immediately turned around, only to see a purple silhouette of a young girl, probably in her teens, running down the street ahead.

After Cybil called out, the young girl clearly heard the sound, glanced in their direction, but continued to run away as if she hadn't heard anything.

"It might be the girl!" Cybil put away her gun and hurriedly ran after her.

Jon did not stop her but followed along, knowing that the girl was definitely not Sharon but rather Alessa. Sharon, being a manifestation of Alessa's benevolence, bore an identical appearance to Alessa, which naturally led Cybil to mistake Alessa for Sharon.

However, what surprised Jon was the absence of any sinister aura from Alessa, suggesting she wasn't her true self but rather something created, similar to the creatures. Her appearance was undoubtedly meant to lead Jon and Cybil, and although it could be a trap, Jon was unconcerned, seeing it as an opportunity to deal with the situation once and for all.

At that moment, the annoying sound filled the air once again.

"What's happening?!" Cybil, looking confused, had obviously not experienced the previous descent into darkness and had entered Silent Hill after it occurred.

"Nothing good. It's best not to stay outside when this happens." Jon said, then quickly signaled Cybil to run in the direction where Alessa had gone.

He was unsure why the darkness had lasted for such a short time but then realized that the shift between the real world and the Darkness of Silent Hill could easily be manipulated by Alessa, who had created both.

As before, the fog and ash began to dissipate with the arrival of the darkness, and the surroundings shed their initial appearance like a snake shedding its skin, revealing a decrepit, eerie, industrial atmosphere.

Given the vast number of creatures in Silent Hill and the lack of any benefit from defeating them, Jon didn't linger outside but led Cybil to a building.

The moment they shut the door behind them, the sound outside gradually faded.

The interior of the building was in disarray and dilapidated, with worn scratches on the walls and numerous bloodstains, not from combat but as if blood was meant to be there.

It might sound unbelievable, but this was the Darkness, beyond normal understanding.

Cybil, on high alert, drew her gun and pointed it around. At that moment, Jon handed her a high-tech gun, saying, "Use this instead. Your gun might have a hard time against those creatures."

Cybil caught the weird gun and frowned, not because she minded its size—after all, Jon had just been using a much larger weapon—but she doubted such a small gun could be effective.
