Chapter 21: Sa'angreal.

"As you can see, everyone, with this energy, we could do a lot more. A much, much more. So, how about we scrape everything we are currently working on and build something entirely new?"

Feeling the surging heat in her chest and looking at the dragon responsible for this with craving desire, Lanfear, one of the sorceresses from another world, like those already killed by Richard, said along with many others, "Agreed."

"But before we think about the features this spell will have, we need to think about how to create the core first. The last one was just rubbish debris not suited for holding this kind of power. Any suggestions?"

Taking her eyes off the dragon reluctantly and trying her hardest not to fall into the urge of wanting him for his power, as she may or may not have experienced in her illusory past life, Lanfear suggested to Yennefer and the channelers of this world.

"A weave, or a spell as you call it, is just not that effective and wastes this energy's potential. They will eventually tear apart over time from the energy that keeps being drawn to keep the weave activated. Not to mention, it is an insult to our intelligence if we just draw this power like barbarians instead of making it perpetual energy that can produce more on its own."

Seeing ten of the channelers nod, plus the sweet and delectable dragon, Lanfear continued, "So, how about we create a type of sa'angreal? A sa'angreal so sophisticated that it can contain a large amount of weave from many channelers all over the world. By doing so, we can all tune and refine it to give this sa'angreal as many features as we like, with perpetual energy being just one example."

Nodding his head at the reasoning of the most astonishingly beautiful woman he had ever seen, Richard contemplated that this sa'angreal, or legendary magic item, would eventually be like a large database server where everyone could upload their open-source code regarding fundamental knowledge of the universe.

He even calculated that in just one month to a hundred years, depending on many factors, this creation, using only 0.0000000001 percent of his vitality, would eventually surpass him in terms of power output.

Not to mention the large amount of utility that would come with it later, especially knowing this sa'angreal would contain inspiration for the entire population of this world with different ideas and understandings since they come from different worlds altogether.

Like maybe creating food and beverages out of literally nothing, even without the presence of atoms to begin with, shelters all over the world could be created with a snap of fingers in different styles and beauty. Perhaps he would see many floating cities like in his imagination, or maybe even spur different kinds of societies that create a diversity everyone can appreciate and admire.

Excited about the prospect of the outcome and already seeing a glimpse of the scholarly era just from the brainstorming alone, Richard, for the first time, couldn't contain his excitement. Employing his Sun breathing to the maximum, he then concentrated on giving each of them 1 percent of his vitality, instead of the half-hearted effort he had made before.

Feeling the rising, comfortable heat in her chest, which was much more sophisticated than before, and looking at the dragon's excited face, Lanfear finally found a way to get close to this man without fear of being shunned away because of his beastly instincts. Unlike Margarita, who didn't understand this man's ideology at all, causing her to lose favor and change from a friend to a stranger once again, as Lanfear estimated from bits and pieces of their few words.

Looking at the dragon cravingly once again, still trying her hardest not to fall into the same temptation of unimaginable power as before, she then heard a question from the red-haired channeler, Triss, who had brought her here.

"What is a sa'angreal?"

"It's just another name for a magic item, Triss. Mesaana told me about it. She's the one who just left and likes to change her body to spectral form from time to time."

Nodding her head at the gouged-eyed channeler's description of the sa'angreal, Lanfear explained further, "But not just any magic item like an Angreal. It is a legendary magic item with a more complex and elaborate design."

"Ah… So it's like that. Thanks, Lan."

Looking at Triss Merigold, who was not that powerful but still insisted on protecting her even though she was pitifully weak when she first arrived in this world, Lanfear just nodded her head and smiled in response to her thanks, while deciding to get to know her better later so that she would have a friend in this world she could consider a blood sister.

"Okay then. Are there any other suggestions besides creating this sa'angreal? If not, we shall continue. Now, Lanfear, care to tell us how to go about creating this core?"

Unknowingly recalling her past while trying to draw inspiration from the most powerful sa'angreal ever created, Lanfear answered dreamily, "In my homeworld, there is this sa'angreal that is so powerful it has the potential to destroy my previous master and god of that world. Sadly, after that last battle, I finally realized power is not enough to defeat a being with creativity and visionary insight to see beyond the veils. And—"

"Hello. Excuse me. I asked you about how to make the sa'angreal, remember?"

Snapping out of her daze at Yennefer's reminder, Lanfear nodded her head and explained, "Right. Sa'angreal. To create this sa'angreal, I will draw inspiration from Choedan Kal, the most powerful sa'angreal from my homeworld. For that, we need to separate the core into two parts: one female and one male."

"What kind of rubbish idea is that? Why do we need to stupidly split the core into two parts? And seriously, what difference does it make? The two cores at the end of the day will just be a simple 1+1. There is no difference at all. In terms of durability to hold magical power, these two cores will be the same as having one core only. In terms of raw power output, there is not an ounce of differentiation if we split it into two, even crippling us from using the power separately. It is just a foolish and stupid endeavor."

Shaking her head since she too once thought the same thing, Lanfear had no idea how to answer what the difference was. Luckily, the two other male channelers, whom she deduced came from the same universe as her, somewhat answered the question of the woman with gouged eyes.

"Because the unification between the two makes the difference. Like both parents who love each other, they then make something entirely new. A new life, a new member, a new understanding. Some of these childrens may be unable to change anything, but there is no small number of things that can affect the entire world's understanding."

"Yes. Like Jahar Narishma stated, if splitting the two cores could result in something new when they are unified, maybe, just maybe, we will be able to achieve this perpetual new understanding. A new understanding that could later boost and transform our magic system into something entirely new. And not just having energy that becomes perpetual from the creation of these cores."

Nodding her head in agreement with Jahar Narishma's philosophy, Margarita tried to continue the thought process before Philipa jabbed at the male Asha'man's unrealistic ambition and ideas, saying, "Think of it like this, Phill. Without Order, there would be no Chaos. Without Chaos, there would be no progression in Order. Even though the core is just drawing the same Chaos magic, it would still be good to create a framework for different things eventually."

"Then why bother? We don't even know how to draw from Order magic. The two cores will just be useless decor that hinders our drawing power with an unnecessarily complicated procedure. And the only person able to draw from the Order here cannot connect to the Chaos at all, making the attempt null and pointless."

Shaking his head since it's true he cannot connect to the Chaos at all without the help of the others, and the enlightenment will be ineffective since he only borrows the Chaos energy and not the illusory magic that comes with it. Richard suddenly regretted that amongst his abilities, he had not yet learned any mathematical formula like that of spacetime curvature that can touch upon the Chaos itself, making him unable to be like that sorceress who is able to draw Chaos into the Orderly physical world.

While sighing hard in lamentation over his 20 points in magical abilities, he and everyone else suddenly heard a childlike voice that popped out of nowhere.

"Hihihihihi. I can connect him to that Chaos, you know. But, but, but, is that Chaos like the Spiritual realm? Am I right? Right?"
