Chapter 6: Chapter 6: Beating The Lizard
Gwen angrily glared at the gigantic lizard monster. "Dr. Connors, this time, I will defeat you and bring you to justice!"
Spider-Gwen attacked Lizard. Although Lizard's strength could easily smash concrete pillars, he was helpless against the agile Spider-Woman and had to endure Gwen's attacks.
However, even though Gwen's attacks kept hitting Lizard, they couldn't inflict significant damage. Lizard had tough skin and regenerative abilities. Despite Gwen's punches being strong enough to kill an ordinary person, they barely harmed him. Even minor injuries healed rapidly thanks to his regeneration!
Though Gwen's anger boosted her strength, it also quickly drained her stamina. Soon, she was panting heavily.
Being a new Spider-Woman, Gwen wasn't yet familiar with her powers and had little combat experience. As her stamina waned, her speed and strength declined, eventually putting her at a disadvantage.
Suddenly, Lizard exploited a flaw in Gwen's defense, grabbing her leg and flinging her into a nearby wall, leaving a human-shaped dent with a loud crash.
Having only recently acquired her extraordinary abilities, Gwen was stunned by the severe pain from the impact and struggled to recover. She tried to stand, but the terrifying green figure loomed over her, blocking the dim streetlights and casting a shadow.
A piercing sound cut through the air as Lizard kicked Gwen again, sending her flying and leaving her completely powerless.
Hearing heavy footsteps, Gwen tried to lift her head and stand but failed. She watched in despair as Lizard approached, fear of death enveloping her.
Transformed into Lizard, Dr. Connors had lost all humanity. Gwen didn't believe he would spare her.
'Am I really going to die just after gaining these extraordinary powers? No, I don't want to die!'
But the excruciating pain throughout her body and her inability to move told her she had no strength left to resist. She was about to descend into the abyss of death like the man before her.
"Yo!"
At that moment, a voice suddenly came from afar. Gwen thought she was hallucinating, believing the man should be dead. But seeing Lizard pause confirmed she wasn't hearing things.
The man wasn't dead! How could this be!?
Yet the following voice affirmed her improbable guess. "Hey, didn't you hear me, ugly?"
Seeing Lizard turn and look at him, Alex's lips curled into a sinister smile.
"What? Planning to attack me?"
Lizard looked at Alex with some confusion. How was the ant from earlier suddenly alive again? Dr. Connors was highly intelligent, but as Lizard, he was a low-intelligence creature, more adept at instinctual destruction than thinking.
After a brief pause, Lizard charged at Alex, intending to tear the ant before him to shreds!
Witnessing this, Gwen didn't understand how the man had survived the previous attack, but she was certain he wasn't a match for Lizard. She quickly shouted a warning:
"Run!"
What happened next left her wide-eyed and incredulous.
Lizard roared and charged at Alex.
Although Lizard's body appeared bulky, he wasn't slow. His seemingly slow appearance was only in comparison to the agile Spider-Woman. In reality, his speed, agility, and reflexes were comparable to hers, but his massive frame slowed him down.
However, this bulk also had its advantages, enhancing his strength.
As Lizard charged, Alex felt like he was facing an oncoming truck. But it was just a truck.
Alex extended one hand forward, causing the surrounding space to overlap and reach an infinite state, preventing anything from approaching him. The Infinity!
Under Gwen's watchful eyes, Lizard was about to collide with the seemingly fragile man. Given the man's thin frame, he would surely be crushed, right? She couldn't bear to watch what was about to happen.
But as the man extended his hand to block, his slender arm appeared as fragile as a chopstick against the massive Lizard.
*Thud!*
Yet, that thin arm stopped Lizard in his tracks!
What was happening? What had become of this world that she no longer recognized it?
Gwen repeatedly questioned herself.
Watching the massive Lizard attacking but unable to move an inch closer, Alex smiled brightly at him. "Come on, keep trying. Maybe if you try a little harder, you'll actually reach me!"
Seeing the Lizard turn to face him, Alex's mouth curled into a sinister grin.
"You're so weak."
The Lizard couldn't tolerate such provocation. He burst forth with even greater strength, his muscles bulging, and unleashed his strongest blow.
But...
It still had no effect...
Despite being just a few centimeters away, it was like there was a world between them, impossible to touch.
After playing with the Lizard for a while, Alex grew impatient. He converted his energy into cursed energy, enveloping his entire body.
He intended to end this battle!
Even with Alex's current level of fusion with the template, enhancing his body with cursed energy alone wasn't enough to match the Lizard.
But with the assistance of Six-Eyes, the Lizard was nothing more than a big punching bag.
The Infinity remained active, preventing the Lizard from touching Alex in the slightest, while Alex could freely engage the Lizard.
Empowered attacks enhanced by cursed energy struck the Lizard. In Gwen's astonished gaze, the seemingly frail man was ruthlessly beating down the Lizard, completely overpowering him!
Drawing on the memories and combat instincts of Gojo Satoru in his mind, each of Alex's attacks was precise and devastating, causing considerable damage to the Lizard every time.
Boom!
His foot collided with the Lizard's chest, sending him flying, crashing through several walls before finally hitting the ground.
However, he immediately got up again. Despite the significant damage caused by Alex's recent attack, the Lizard quickly recovered under his terrifying regeneration ability, rendering the attack ineffective.
Gwen's hopeful eyes dimmed once again.
Yes, she had been defeated by this terrifying regenerative ability. Even though the unexpected strength of the man had been astonishing, without being able to deal a fatal blow to the Lizard, the terrifying regenerative ability would wear him down.
She addressed the man:
"This Lizard possesses extremely strong recovery abilities. If you can't defeat him in one go, he could wear you down to death! Your damage must be faster than his self-healing speed to defeat him!"
Alex ignored Spider-Woman's advice and instead stared at the increasingly enraged Lizard. After the wounds on the Lizard's body healed, he immediately charged at him.
A sinister smile crept onto his lips as he mocked the large figure in front of him:
"Did you really think I couldn't handle you?"
He extended his palm, fingers slightly curling, then his voice turned cold and detached:
"Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue."
