Chapter 73: In a better place

When next he woke, it was morning again.

Maxixe could smell his body odor and he desperately wanted to wash his face to remove the matter from his eyes and the white squall from the corner of his lips.

He had slept on his hand and when he shifted the weight from off it.

Maxixe could feel the discomfiture and tingling sensation as the numbness eased and feeling returned to his fingers.

Not to mention the hollow emptiness in the pit of his stomach. 

No amount of mentally telling himself that he was fasting could make up for the fact that he hadn't eaten in two days. 

The only difference is his legs weren't lost as he had thought earlier when he was unable to move them. 

Tired of lying down he did the same as yesterday, lift himself to his elbows first.

He wasn't going to make the same mistake twice, this time around he welcomed the stinging pain in his legs and pushed upward until he was sitting up straight.
