Altercation 1

You know there are times when your wish gets granted, yet it doesn't go according to plan.

The name's Joseph Duncan by the way~.

Yes, I was given a second chance of transmigration!

Yes, I was given a cheat to Alter anything I touch according to its level and my stamina due to the world I was going to stay in.

However, they sent me to a completely different world from what I originally intended on going to!

I wanted to go to Highschool of the dead and create my utopia with a full harem included.

But instead, I was sent to the world of knowledge-hungry Wizards and magicians that use anyone weaker than them as tools for power and experiments.

that was just asking for a short life right there without the proper cheats to withstand the endless amounts of trouble that could pop out at any time!!

As a side note about what the god did, a lot of the male characters got gender-bent, meaning that the god that sent me here was still fulfilling his promise, however, that is beside the point.

I have no idea how quickly things will go downhill, all the wizards are using regular humans as their 'ingredients' and lab rats for experiments that usually ended in death, Demons, fallen angels, and regular angels are dealing with random threats A.K.A., The escaped test subjects, that wander into their realm, the only problem with this world was due to the fact that all of the 'monsters' ceased to exist from getting over hunted by the other races.

So there were only regular animals that can grow to a certain point but that was it.

Oh, then there are other little factions that are waging war behind the scenes including the vengeful humans and the evil magicians and so many more that have their own interests to satisfy.

Yeah, I was sent to a bloodthirsty world.

But there's nothing that I can do about it, other than ride the storm and hope for the best!

I was currently in a small town that had no connection to any of the factions, yet.

The body that I was sent to had the same name, with short brown hair, green eyes, skinny frame to where it was unhealthy making it hard to tell if he was average or good looking, the body was only 15 years old and was very sickly as were many of the other townspeople.

'Altercation' was the name of my cheat, it was pretty similar to transmutation, however, the price to use it was very different from FMA.

It was still level one, meaning I can only alter two things within anything, for now, I quickly altered what my hemp tunic would do for me.

Each item had this kind of screen for me to see.

What the Object is.

Type?

Durability which usually is at 10 - 100/ 10 - 100

Effect?

This was what the hemp shirt showed me.

Hemp Shirt

Clothing

Durability 7/10

Effect +10% warmth

I changed the effect into +10% detox every 60 seconds.

That action alone made me fall on my ass due to how weak this body was, as it began to sweat heavily and my breathing turned into heaving.

As soon as 60 seconds passed, my whole body felt relaxed and warm as if getting a pleasant massage, however, there was another effect that made me get up with haste and head to the nearest bush.

I had to relieve myself really bad, so I'll leave the other details out of this.

After a whole hour, I left the area with a cramped face that had more color to it.

The current level of technology didn't prevent people from suffering all sorts of problems, in my case, the number of parasites, then again the lack of hygiene, improperly 'cooked' or stored food, and living space didn't help either.

These were just some of the reasons why this little town, that looked like it was from the medieval ages, was inhabited by sickly people.

Now that I was feeling a bit better and in my tent of a home, I began altering the hemp slacks that had roughly the same information as the tunic, before adding a satiety +10% every 60 seconds.

That will prevent me from getting hungry, while the feeling of weakness returned it wasn't as bad as earlier but I still needed to rest for a bit, thus I laid down in the middle of my tent before looking around at this Tipi-styled tent.

A small blanket, some old books that acted as my pillow for now, and a bent bronze spear that was better to be used as a bat than to poke someone with it.

This was all that my predecessor had left, a refugee of a city that was burned to the ground by a battle caused by a group of wizards having a battle against Devils.

Neither side relented for a full month before that place that used to be lively and covered in fertile lands was devastated and turned into a wasteland.

The two factions won't give a shit since it wasn't that hard to change the lands back to how they were before their cruel way of amusing themselves.

Even if Thousands of people lost their homes, their livelihood, and their very lives because of a brief moment of greed from the wizards and devils.

Regular people will always suffer because of this.

Years of hard work would disappear within days at a mere whim of the powerful.

That was the way of life in this world.

Join the ranks of the 'strong' or become a common ant that will be trampled upon by others.

The little space I occupy now was 'lent' to me by the town mayor in exchange for helping with the farms outside the town premises and tending to the stone walls.

It was a fair price if you don't have any money to afford your daily needs.

But he left out one important detail, those that are assigned to the walls will be the first meatshields of the town, to defend from some of the stray demons and monsters with a single dull spear.

You can already imagine how much of a blood bath it became.

When you put this in mind, on average a regular stray demon usually has 10x the strength and agility of an adult human.

So these stone walls are pretty much useless for keeping them out, but it can still buy the rest of the people inside some time to escape to the shelters.

By the way, demons love to eat humans making this the MAIN reason why the refugees were given jobs such as tending to the farms, watch towers, and walls.

This was how cruel this world was.

I took a deep breath before trying to alter the effects of my underwear.

This was where I was going to cheat the system even more.

The effect that I gave it was +10% stamina recovery every 60 seconds.

This was only temporary as going any lower than sixty doubles the required stamina for every second deducted, it was the same for the percentage for every 1% more the higher the stamina cost.

So with that settled, let's get a few fruits.

When I have enough money and a cup of water from the food distributor, I'm going to make an effect that could be used repeatedly~

Every bite and every sip can make a difference when used with the effect that I have in mind!
