I glared at Lilith, acting all cute, despite almost killing me, and I sighed; Taking a look around at this whole in-the-wall shit hole. There was nothing here but a damn mat to cultivate. Not even a restroom to shit!
"You still mad?" She suddenly asked as I shook my head.
"Not really; my sins are making me more emotional than I am accustomed to." I played off, still a little furious of that bastard Loki giving my wife a gift. That was my job! I provide the presents and the babies! Me!
"Well, I did get you a sorry present! It took me a year to make," She claimed as my heart began to flutter.
Waving her hand, a massive teddy bear appeared. Unable to fit in this small room correctly, he took up more than half of my cave. However, as the bear pressed against my skin, a wave of comfort played over my heart.
"Wanna fuck over the bear?" I impatiently asked, turning to my lovely wife licking her lips.
"I do, but I am saving myself for our wedding night." She softly whispered, tracing the tip of her lips over mine.
"And if I can't wait?"
"Sure you can; you waited a year, didn't you?" She seductively replied, dismissing the bear back to her spiral ring. "From what I saw, Larisa is so heartbroken after you plowed her. she fell into a heavy depression as you never returned."
Cracking a bitter smile, I nodded, "We will see how the next two months go. How did you know I was coming?"
"As soon as you entered this domain, I felt your presence. You should really try to see what your Abyssal Night can do, Sene. If you can think it, I am sure it can do it. How do you think I am able to hide my tether with you?" She sharply said as I narrowed my eyes.
"And your only telling me this now?"
"And I have to pay the price to do so." Lilith softly said, pulling out a crystal of demise that glowed a red hue. My eyes widened, and my soul shivered. Everything regarding why she never told me about certain things began to click.
"What can you tell me?" I solemnly investigated. Lilith only became a god recently, so there is no reason, the Crystal of Demise, should be red unless she did something big.
"My legacy of the Abyss is information. Information that is granted by whatever I touched." She said as the crystal began to acquire traces of black slivers.
"Ok, that's enough! I got it!" With sweat dripping from my brow, I hastily placed my hands over her mouth as she licked my palm. Teasing me with amusement in her eyes. "You are not taking this seriously at all, are you?"
"Not much I can do. Right now."
"Can you use souls to mend this?"
"Sene, I can give you advice, but that's about it. I can guide you, but I will recommend you be wise when dealing with souls." Lilith darkly urged, crossing her arms; she sighed. "There is a limit to how much anyone can take."
Taking her words to heart, a bit of pressure raced over my heart. It seems like there is something I don't know. Lilith could only be talking about the Soul Cores.
'There will be someone there at our wedding to tell you more, but be wary of how you use your Flames of Hellfire from now on." She warned.
Releasing another breath of air, a long sigh rushed from my lips, "All these questions are going to drive me crazy. How have you been in this Sect?"
"Great. But some of the guys are a little creepy. I am already on top of the goddess ranking." She remarked, as her hair turned scarlet and her eyes emerald. Changing some of her bone structure, a different kind of goddess appeared in my line of sight. A firey flame made one wish to fall in worship at her gaze.
Smirking, I narrowed my eyes, "Are they now? At least they recognize my wife's greatness." I said, tracing my hands over her cheeks; she leaned into my palm, and her cheeks turned red, reaching all the way to her ears. "What is Julius' battle prowess?"
Studying the confusion, Lilith suddenly laughed, "You want revenge, don't you. I did hear he kicked your ass. Forget it, Arsene, you will never when if he uses Into the Abyss. Those of the Abyss are not meant to be killed, much less challenged. "
"There Battle Prowess, and mine." I repeated.
Lilith chuckled sinisterly, "They are at Paragon, all of them. When we use Into the Abyss, our battle prowess rages, and we have access to every single ability of our kind. Every power and every experience. And that is but the first ability of our kind. There is a reason they are not allowed to leave the Abyss."
"Aegis mentioned something regarding Paragon. What is it?" I muttered, clenching my fist tightly.
Lilith shrugged, "Figure it out yourself. What I can say is that the First Paragon ever to exist was your brother, Zariel."
"And my battle prowess?" I coldly inquired, never feeling so weak in my life.
What kind of stupid shit was this? I had known the Abyss was strong, and the collective mind made them even more dangerous. But this is crazy, to use any type of Dao without training and all this other shit. A newborn abyssal demon could probably kill me.
"You are a Lord. At your peak using everything in your arsenal, you bearly touch upon a King. You are very powerful, Arsene; it's just you have yet to tap into your bloodline or truly use the Path of Abyssal Night."
Holding me in her sight, Lilith took my hand, "come, let's go to the Martial Halls. Someone needs a Soul Defense Arte. Leaving you like so will be dangerous."
Pushing the stone door open, I was dragged through the air. Lost in thought, I could not help but stare at the fiery goddess. "Why have you never used Into the Abyss?"
"Because I never saw the need to. I am a soul bender, I have a Crest, and I have every Circle of the Hells within my head. I needed to raise my battle prowess on my own. This not only helps my people but me as well.
"So, are you a lord?"
"I am if I use Circles. One of my favorites is Genisis, a Karmic-Time Circle that makes someone relive all past injuries. A single touch of my blade and death will follow."
"Would have been nice to use on a wraith." I annoyingly recalled.
"Undead are immune to its effect. And that Wraith was undead." She claimed, shooting me a victorious smile. "
Soaring through the azure skies, filled with hundreds of disciples, I could not help but think of Lilith's ulterior motives in regards to this Soul Defense. She should know that I hold the inherited memories of the devils and demons. Why would she want to make me go the this Martial Hall?
My heritage as a devil with the bloodline of Bael gave me a field of knowledge regarding the soul. The three layers of the soul and the powers each of them held. It was safe to say. I knew more about souls than most devils. Then there was that library I refused to use due to the insane prices of souls it required.
The Orginal Bael had gifted me his infinite knowledge, but not without a price. I was sure he knew Zariel; that devil knew many things.
"There!" Lilith suddenly exclaimed, pointing towards a five-story Pagoda standing with a powerful whiff of an ancient air to it.
Descending from the skies to the base, Lilith smiled, "Try not to anger the Elder presiding over the Martial Hall."
"I take offense to that." I justified, flicking my ashen hair. I am a saint."
She smiled, narrowing her emerald eyes, and giggled, "Well, dear saint. I would watch it if I were you. Who knows what will happen."
Heading towards the entrance, I pushed the doors opened and welcomed the sight of books racing down tall shelves. Turning to my left, I saw another elderly man resting his eyes. Silence seemed to have taken over this hall, as I did not even hear the sounds of footsteps.
Staring at the man, who had not bothered to open his eyes, to me, Lilith pulled my sleeve, "Come on. Let's take a look at some Soul Artes." She whispered, but my gaze remained locked upon the elderly man. There was something off about him.
I was sure he was powerful, but something about him made me feel familiar. Sensing my gaze, the elderly man opened his gaze that seemed to devour the light. My soul trembled, and my blood shook as something tried to connect with me.
However, as this familiar essence tried to connect us, the Path of Abyssal Night severed Tenebrae's intent freeing me from her grasp. Bewildered by this unfolding event, I felt Lilith jerk me away.
"You had bettered keep walking you, idiot." Lilith's soul whispered via our soul tether. "Your lucky your intent and the Path are now fusing. If not, he would have known you were a child of Tenebrae. From there, it's not hard to find out you are Arsene."
"Sorry. Tenebrae's influence over my blood still exists. Meeting a brother and sister is still a little weird." I replied mentally.
Lilith pursed her lips and dragged me up a few floors, but I could still feel that elder's gaze locked on me. Although I was sure he didn't sense anything regarding Tenebrae, I was sure his instincts were telling him something. Whether it was a good thing or not, I was not too sure.
"Each floor is reserved for specific disciples, the highest even I am not allowed on, but the fourth layer held a Soul Arte I took a particular interest in as I was browsing." She explained as we raced up the stairs. Dodging through any disciple we saw, Lilith dragged me towards a lone shelf covered in dirt.
Noticing the faint absence of disciples. There existed a lone book a bit tattered that appeared recently wiped cleaned, Knowing this was the one Lilith spoke of. I pulled it from the shelf and gazed heavily at its name.
"Devourer," I muttered half of its name off. The rest had faded away with the passage of time, yet as I held this book, something within my blood boiled. My heartfelt warmth and my soul stirred with a belonging sensation. Yet beneath this warmth, something sinister grew.
Consuming me with a bloodlust I held down every day since I became a god, I turned to Lilith with bloodshot eyes. "What is this?"
"It's whatever you make of it. Do you remember the time you held a spear or a bow?" She reminded me as I recalled the affinity I held back then. "You are smart enough, talented enough, and skilled enough, to weave a new Soul Arte based on what you see in this book. It shouldn't take more than a few days with your monstrous talent."
She smiled and glanced down at the manual in my palm, "This may be your first bloodline Arte. Artificial Progenitors like you don't have the luxury of having the heavens make their arte for them. You were lucky to have your darkness corrupt any Dao you use. That can be counted as your only skill, but this may change you and your kind completely."
Tracing my fingers over its name, a grin appeared on my lips, "Seems like my wife is my master now."
Lilith suddenly drew closer to my ear and sent her moist breath over my cheeks, "I may even tell you how to fuck me right."
"Screw you!" I snapped.
"Please do!" She fired back in laughter.
"You two leave now!" The elder down below suddenly thundered, shaking the walls with his mighty voice.
Arching my lips, I stole a kiss from Lilith's plum cheeks and leaped from the balcony. Landing near the elder glaring, I chuckled and placed the manual down, "I would like to check this out."
Eyeing the Devourer manual coldly, his gaze weighed heavy on my soul. Pressuring me with his stone-like eyes, I held firm as he sighed.
"Are you sure? From the report I got, you specialize in Lightning. This is a Yin base Soul Arte." He claimed as my brow shot up.
"I only plan on using it as a base; I never use artes I find. I make my own." I confirmed, watching the surprise grow in his eyes.
"I can also confirm that Uncle Aiden. He is quite hateful like that!" Lilith vibrantly shouted, leaping down on my back and rested her head on my hair like she was a mother hen.
"Wait, he is your husband?" Elder Aiden suddenly shouted, with surprise, as the little minx giggled.
'Yup! I told you all I was already married." Lilith joyously expressed.
"Asura Bloodgrave," I introduced, wondering what the hell Lilith did. What the hell was my cover story supposed to be?
